I run a league — what do I set up, and in what order?

Doing this from your phone

Everything on this page works on a phone. Three buttons sit along the bottom — Leagues, My Team and More — and commissioners get one extra door: the green League button, a green circle with a sliders icon floating in the lower right of any league page (customers call it "the green slider"). Tap it and a menu slides up with the Dashboard and every Hub. If you cannot find a page named below, that button is where it lives. The full tour is in Getting around on your phone.

Set it up in this order

Each step works on its own, so you can stop after any of them and still have a working league.

1. Add the bot to your Discord server. You need to be able to manage that server. The bot creates what it needs and asks before touching anything else.
2. Connect your Madden league. This is the step that pays for itself: scores, standings, rosters and stats arrive without anybody typing them in. See Connect your league.
3. Claim your teams. Members ask for a team, you approve, the bot hands out the roles. See Teams.
4. Decide how XP works. What players earn, what upgrades cost, and who approves them. The defaults are sensible — change them when you have a reason. See XP.
5. Turn on the extras you want. Trades, betting, achievements, the prize wheel, recruitment ads. All optional, all off until you switch them on.

The pages you will use most

• Teams — who owns what, opening a team back up, and the waitlist when somebody leaves.
• XP — prices, payouts, and granting or taking XP by hand when you need to.
• Trades — approving deals, and the rules about what can move.
• Limits — the guard rails: how much can be traded, how much XP a team can hold, how many upgrades at once.
• Roles Hub — every role the bot hands out, in one place.
• Notifications — which channel each kind of announcement goes to.

Running a season

• Results. Once your league is connected, finished games come in on their own, and the bot posts them.
• Inactivity. You can have the bot watch for owners who have gone quiet and flag them, rather than finding out weeks later.
• A new season. The bot follows your league into the next season. You choose whether XP carries over or resets.

When something looks wrong

• A member says their XP is wrong. Every change is recorded with a reason. Check the XP records before changing anything by hand.
• A setting will not stick. Each section has its own Save button — saving one does not save the others.
• The bot cannot do something in Discord. It repairs its own permissions where it can. You should never have to hand-edit permissions to make the bot work.
