Stream on Twitch the way you always do. Link your channel to the bot once, and put your league's Title Word in your stream title every time you go live. The bot then announces your stream in your league's Discord, pings your team, and your finished recordings and clips post on their own. No Title Word in the title means no go-live post — that is the answer to almost every "my stream didn't send".

This guide is for players. If you run the league and are setting Twitch up for everyone, that lives in How do I use the Twitch page?.

The quickest way is in Discord, in your league's server:

  1. Type /twitch link and put in your channel address — like twitch.tv/yourname — or just your channel name.
  2. That's it. Check it any time with /twitch status, and remove it with /twitch unlink.

You never sign in to Twitch for this, and nobody asks for your Twitch password. The bot only needs to know which channel is yours.

You can also link from the website or the app:

  1. Tap My Team in the bottom bar (on a computer, it is under Player Portal in the sidebar).
  2. Open the Team Pages menu at the top of the page (in a phone browser it is a dropdown).
  3. Under Progress, tap Twitch.
  4. Type your channel in the Your Twitch channel box and press Connect Twitch.

Step 2 — put the Title Word in your stream title

This is the one rule everybody misses.

Your league has a Title Word — usually the league's name. Your stream only gets picked up when your stream title contains that word. Capitalization does not matter, but if the word is missing, the bot skips your stream and says nothing.

Where to find your league's Title Word:

  • On your My Team → Twitch page — it is shown in a box under "Don't skip this".
  • Or just ask a commissioner.

Put it in your title before you press go live, every time. "GFL Week 4 — Bears at Lions" works; "Week 4 — Bears at Lions" silently does not.

What happens when you go live

With your channel linked and the Title Word in your title:

  • The bot posts a shout-out in your league's go-live channel, with a link straight to your stream.
  • Your team's role gets pinged, so the people who care actually see it.
  • The post carries your team's badge, which comes from your Discord team role.

My stream didn't send

Work down this list — it is almost always the first one:

  1. Was the Title Word in your stream title? Missing word means the bot skips the stream completely, with no error anywhere. Fix the title and it works on your next stream.
  2. Is your channel still linked? Run /twitch status in your league's Discord. If it says nothing is linked, link it again — a link can be removed by you or by a commissioner.
  3. Is Twitch switched on for your league? Commissioners can turn league Twitch posts off — common in the off-season. Ask a commissioner to check the Twitch tab; the Twitch page article walks them through it.

Where clips and recordings land

Once you are linked, your new Twitch clips and finished recordings post by themselves into the channels your league picked — most leagues have a clips channel and a recordings channel. There is nothing to press; they show up after Twitch finishes processing them.

If your league turned on automatic highlights, the bot also watches your finished game recordings for scores and posts either clickable timestamps or a short video of each score.

It's still posting my recordings — how do I stop that?

If you do not want your recordings (VODs) showing up in the league's channels, you have two options today:

  • Unlink your channel with /twitch unlink. This stops everything for your channel — recordings, clips and go-live shout-outs.
  • Ask a commissioner. The channels that recordings and clips post into are chosen on the league's Twitch tab, so a commissioner controls where — and whether — they land for the whole league.

On your phone

Everything here works from a phone:

  • The commands — /twitch link, /twitch status, /twitch unlink — work exactly the same in the Discord app.
  • The site path: tap My Team in the bottom bar, open the Team Pages menu at the top, and under Progress tap Twitch. In a phone browser the menu is a dropdown.

One more thing

Twitch posts, clips and member links are part of the Elite plan. If your league's My Team pages or Twitch posts are not appearing at all, your league may be on a different plan — ask your commissioner.
