How do I use the Betting page?
Betting is set up on the XP Hub's Betting tab: how big a bet can be, which channels bets and results post in, and the caps on how often members can bet. Members place their bets in Discord with /bet, and finished games grade themselves — you only come back here when something needs fixing.
Where to find it
On the website: click XP in the sidebar, then the Betting tab at the top of the page.
In the app: tap More, then XP, then pick Betting from the XP sections dropdown.
What it does
Betting lets members stake XP on real games from your Madden league — pick a winner, or build a parlay across several games. When a game finishes, the bot grades every bet against the final score and pays out automatically. Nobody has to do anything.
The Betting tab has four cards, top to bottom:
- Bet Sizes — Smallest Bet, Biggest Bet, and Games In One Parlay. Each box shows what the normal amount is; leave a box blank to use it. Press Save The Bet Sizes.
- Where Betting Happens — Where Members Place Bets and Where Results Are Posted. Leave the first empty and bets post nowhere. Press Save The Betting Rooms.
- Settle A Week Again — pick Which Week and press Settle That Week Again when a score was fixed after bets paid out. It is safe to run twice; nobody is paid the same bet twice.
- The caps — Bets Placed and Parlays Placed, each its own card with its own Save button. See Where limits live now for how a cap card works.
Step by step
- Make sure your league is connected — bets are placed on real games from your Madden league, so with no league connected there is nothing to bet on.
- Turn the feature on: open Features in the sidebar and switch on Betting. It sits under XP, because every bet is staked in XP.
- Open XP → Betting and pick the two channels under Where Betting Happens.
- Set Bet Sizes if the normal amounts do not suit your league.
- Tell your members to run
/bet boardin Discord to see this week's games and lines. - Leave the rest alone. Bets grade themselves. Settle A Week Again is only for when a score gets corrected after the fact.
What members see
Members never open this tab — it is commissioner-only. They bet from Discord:
/bet board— this week's games and betting lines. This is the front door: a Bet button on each game, dropdowns for the lines, a Change stake button for the amount, and Add Game to put a second game on the same slip./bet parlay— opens the same board. It no longer takes a game or a stake of its own./bet active— what they have riding./bet history— how they've done./bet help— the explainer, worth pointing new members at./wager create— challenge another member to a head-to-head bet.
There is also a Sportsbook page on their My Team pages on the website. It disappears when betting is switched off.
Common problems
- I can't find Betting anywhere. It is a tab on the XP Hub, not its own sidebar row. If the whole XP Hub is missing, the XP switch is off in the Features Hub — turning XP off takes Betting with it, because bets are staked in XP.
/betvanished from Discord. The Betting switch is off in the Features Hub — either directly, or because XP was switched off and took it along.- Bets post nowhere. Where Members Place Bets is empty. Pick a channel and press Save The Betting Rooms.
- A game's score was corrected and the payouts are wrong. Use Settle A Week Again with that week picked. Every bet on that week is checked again.
- Game of the Week stopped when I turned betting off. That used to happen and was fixed in August 2026. Game of the Week is its own tab on the Gameday Hub now and does not depend on betting or on XP.
- Another commissioner can't see this tab. What a helper sees is decided by the owner in Front Office → League Access.
- I switched betting off and members still have bets open. Open bets aren't lost, but they can't grade either — the machinery that would settle them is off. Settle what's open before switching off if you can.
