How do I set up Game of the Week channel?

Open the Gameday Hub, go to the Game of the Week tab, and set the Public post channel. You need your game channels set up first — Game of the Week will not work without them, and the page tells you so.

Where to find it

On the website: click Gameday in the sidebar, then the Game of the Week tab at the top of the page.

In the app: tap More, then Gameday, then pick Game of the Week from the section dropdown.

What it does

Once a week you pick one matchup and Franchise Hub turns it into the main event.

It posts a matchup card into your chosen channel and your members pick who they think wins. When the game is played, the result lands and everyone who picked correctly is paid out in XP. The tab also shows the Current Game of the Week and your Past Weeks, so you can see how each matchup went.

It is the single post most leagues build their week around.

The command you use

/gotw post — an interactive picker that walks you through week, matchup and preview before publishing.

Step by step

  1. Set up your game channels first. If they are missing, the top of the Game of the Week tab says so and gives you a Set up game channels button that takes you straight to the Game Channels tab.
  2. On the Game of the Week tab, find the Roles and Channels card and set the Public post channel — that is where each week's matchup poll is posted. Most leagues use a dedicated channel so it does not get lost.
  3. Set the Admin role on the same card. Members in this role can post and close matchups — usually your Co-Commissioner role.
  4. Optionally set the Finals channel (optional) — where the final result is posted. Leave it blank and the result posts in the same place as the card. There is also an Admin channel (optional) if you want the admin buttons kept somewhere private.
  5. Press Save Game of the Week settings, then run /gotw post in Discord to feature your first matchup.

The two switches on this card

Both are on unless you turn them off, and both keep your channel choices either way.

Post the final result decides whether the result and payout post when the game wraps up. Off, picks are still graded and everybody who was right is still paid — nothing is posted. While it is off, the blank-Finals channel fallback does nothing either: off means off, not "post it with the card instead".

Post the admin card decides whether the admin card is posted each week. Off, no admin card goes out.

Common problems

  • Nothing posted for members. The most common cause is that your game channels are not set up. The tab says so at the top, with a button to fix it. There is no on/off switch for the weekly matchup card itself — it works as soon as your game channels exist and a Public post channel is picked.
  • The matchup posted but the result never did. Post the final result is switched off. Everybody who picked correctly was still paid.
  • The card posted but nobody was paid. Correct picks are paid in XP, so if XP is switched off the vote still runs and the payout does not. The tab says so when that is the case — everything else works. A correct pick normally pays 50 XP; change that in the XP Hub on the Earning tab, under XP For Winning Things.
  • I can't see this tab. What a helper sees is controlled by the owner. Share it from Front Office on the League Access tab.
  • Somebody else needs to post it. Whoever holds the Admin role on this card can run /gotw post. They do not need to be a commissioner.
