How do I set up Roster updates channel?

Pick the channel where signings, cuts and roster moves are posted. The picker lives in the Gameday Hub, on the After the Game tab, on the card called Roster Moves. Beside it is a switch called Post roster moves. It is on unless you turn it off.

Where to find it

On the website: click Gameday in the sidebar, then open the After the Game tab.

On your phone: tap More → Gameday, then pick After the Game from the Dashboard Sections menu at the top.

Set it up

  1. Make a channel your league can read — #transactions or #roster-moves is the usual name.
  2. On the Roster Moves card, set Roster updates channel to it.
  3. Leave Post roster moves switched on.
  4. Press Save channel.

What gets posted

Everything that changes a roster, gathered up and posted as it happens:

  • Signings and cuts picked up after an export.
  • Contract restructures.
  • Trades made through the bot.
  • Salary-cap changes that come with them.

This is the channel that makes a league feel alive between games. It is also the honest record when somebody asks who signed a player first.

The switch that stops the posts

Post roster moves turns the posts off without losing your channel.

Off, nothing is posted for any of the four kinds above. Your channel stays picked, so switching it back on starts them again with nothing to set up.

What carries on regardless:

  • Every move is still recorded. Rosters, contracts and the cap all keep updating.
  • Trades still go through, and the trade tools still work.
  • Nothing is deleted, and nothing has to be re-entered when you switch it back on.

Only the posting stops.

Common problems

  • Nothing is posting. Check the switch first, then check the channel is still there and the bot can post in it. After that: moves are picked up from your exports, so a league that has not exported has nothing to report.
  • Too much noise in general chat. Point this at its own channel. All four kinds of move go to this one picker.
  • The tab tells me to set something up first. After the Game needs your EA account linked and your game channels set up. The notice at the top of the tab links to whichever is missing.
  • A helper cannot see this tab. What a helper sees is set by the owner in Front Office on the League Access tab.
