How do I set up Player of the Week channel?

Open the Gameday Hub, go to the Player of the Week tab, and set the Player of the Week channel. Then run /potw after you advance the week. Leave the channel blank and the image posts wherever the command was run.

Where to find it

On the website: click Gameday in the sidebar, then the Player of the Week tab at the top of the page.

In the app: tap More, then Gameday, then pick Player of the Week from the section dropdown.

What it does

You pick the players who had the best week and Franchise Hub builds a card for them — a card naming the week's standout performer, with their name, team, position and the stat line that earned it.

Each winner's team is paid XP for it — normally 100 XP per winner. That amount is set in the XP Hub on the Earning tab, under XP For Winning Things, so you decide what a Player of the Week is worth in your league.

Most commissioners post this once a week, right after advancing.

The command you use

/potw — it asks for the week number, then you pick your winners.

Step by step

  1. On the Player of the Week tab, find the Where It Posts card and set the Player of the Week channel. A dedicated channel keeps the cards together and easy to scroll back through.
  2. Press Save channel.
  3. Advance your week in Madden and export, so the bot has the week's stats.
  4. Run /potw with the week number and pick your winners.
  5. The card posts and the XP is paid automatically.

Leaving it blank is a real choice. With no channel set, the card posts in whatever channel you ran /potw in — the page says so right under the picker. That suits leagues who want it in general chat rather than filed away.

The switch that stops the card

Post Player of the Week sits on the same card and is on unless you turn it off.

Off, the winners are still picked, still tracked and still paid their XP — only the card stops being posted. Your channel choice is kept.

Common problems

  • The card did not appear, just text. That is the fallback when the image could not be drawn in time. It should be rare — if you see it more than once, say so in support, because it means something is wrong rather than slow.
  • Nobody got any XP. Player of the Week pays the winner's team from the payout in the XP Hub, on the Earning tab under XP For Winning Things. If XP is switched off there is nothing to pay, and if the payout is set to 0 it will pay nothing.
  • It posted in the wrong place. The channel here is blank, so it posted where the command was run. Set the channel if you want it to always land in the same place.
  • Nothing posted at all. Post Player of the Week is switched off. The winners you picked were still paid — turn it back on for next week.
  • I can't see this tab. What a helper sees is controlled by the owner. Share it from Front Office on the League Access tab.
