How do I set up Playoffs channel?

Open the Gameday Hub, go to the Playoffs & Predictions tab, and set the Playoffs channel — that is where playoff results post. Leave it blank and they follow your Game of the Week channel instead, as long as Post playoff rounds is on.

Where to find it

On the website: click Gameday in the sidebar, then the Playoffs & Predictions tab at the top of the page.

In the app: tap More, then Gameday, then pick Playoffs & Predictions from the section dropdown.

What it does

Once your regular season ends, this tab runs your postseason.

The Playoffs channel is where playoff results are posted, and /bracket draws the current playoff picture with the seeding and the matchups.

Playoff predictions live on the same tab. Under Post a Playoff Round you get one button per round — Wildcard, Divisional, Conference and Super Bowl — and pressing one posts every game in that round for members to pick. It settles itself as each playoff round finishes, and correct picks are paid in XP — normally 75 XP each, set in the XP Hub on the Earning tab under XP For Winning Things. Predictions run on their own; they do not need Betting switched on.

The commands members use

/bracket — see the current playoff picture. Commissioners can also post rounds from Discord with /playoffs post.

Step by step

  1. On the Playoffs & Predictions tab, find the Where Playoff Results Post card and set the Playoffs channel. A lot of leagues make a fresh channel each season so the old results stay readable. Press Save channel.

Under it is Post playoff rounds, on unless you turn it off. Off, playoff rounds are not posted anywhere at all — not here, and not in the Game of the Week channel either. That is new: until now a blank channel simply followed the Game of the Week channel, so there was no way to stop playoff posts. Your channel choice is kept.

  1. Play out your regular season and advance into the playoffs in Madden, then export.
  2. When a round is ready, press its button under Post a Playoff Round. The round's games post to your Game of the Week channel for members to pick — if you have not picked one yet, the page says so and links you across.
  3. After each round is played, export again. Picks settle and pay on their own, and the counters under each round button show what has posted and what has settled.

Common problems

  • The bracket is empty or wrong. It is built from your export. If you have advanced into the playoffs but not exported since, the bot is still looking at the regular season.
  • The round buttons will not post. Predictions post into your Game of the Week channel, so one has to be picked first. The warning on the page links you straight to the Game of the Week tab to set it.
  • Playoff results stopped appearing. Post playoff rounds is switched off. While it is off the blank-channel fallback does nothing either — off means off everywhere.
  • Correct picks were not paid. Playoff pick payouts come out of the XP economy. With XP switched off the picks still work and the payout does not.
  • I can't see this tab. What a helper sees is controlled by the owner. Share it from Front Office on the League Access tab.
