How do I run free agency?

Where to find it

On the website: press Teams in the sidebar, then open the Free Agency tab.

On your phone: More → Teams, then pick Free Agency from the Choose a section dropdown at the top of the page.

Where things stand

The first card, The Bidding Window, tells you everything at a glance: whether a window is open right now, which channel the winners will be posted in, the smallest bid allowed, how many bids are on the table, and when you last opened one.

The smallest bid is shown for reference. There is no control for it — it is the bot's standard floor, 100 XP.

Opening a window

The Open a Window card shows whenever no window is open.

1. Pick where you want the winners announced under Channel for the results. Don't announce them anywhere is a real choice, not a blank one — pick it and the settlement happens quietly, though the page will remind you afterwards that nobody was told.
2. Press Open bidding and confirm.

Your owners can bid the moment it opens — in the app under My Team → Free Agency, or with /fa_bid in Discord.

Closing it and settling up

While a window is open, the open card is replaced by Close It and Settle Up. Pressing Close bidding and settle does four things at once: each player goes to the biggest bid on him, ties are settled at random, the winner pays what they bid, and every other bidder gets their XP back immediately.

It asks you to confirm because it cannot be undone. There is no reopen, no re-run and no reverse — once the XP has moved and the players have been handed out, that window is finished.

If a results channel was set, the winners are announced there — one message per winning team, with that team's role pinged.

Announcing the results again

Once you have closed at least one window, a card called Announce the Last Results Again appears, offering to post the last set of winners again — one message per team. Leave the channel on Use the channel already set or pick a different one, then press Announce them again.

It moves no XP. It only re-reads what is already on record and sends the message again, which is why it needs no confirmation and is safe to press twice. Use it when the announcement never landed, or when you have since decided you wanted it somewhere else.

The card is hidden until there is something to re-announce, so a league that has never closed a window is not offered a button that could only fail.

The live board

At the bottom, Bids on the Table lists every player being bid on, with the bids underneath and the biggest one first. It fills in as your owners bid and it is the quickest way to see whether a window is worth leaving open a bit longer.

Common problems

• My owners cannot bid. Check the card at the top actually says Open now. A closed window accepts nothing.
• I closed it and it said nobody won. Then no bids were placed. The live board would have been empty too.
• An owner says their XP is missing. Bids hold the XP while the window is open. Losers get it back at settlement, and the winner keeps paying. If the window is still open, nothing has settled yet.
• The winners were never announced. Either no channel was picked when the window opened, or the bot could not post there — the message after closing says which. Pick a channel and press Announce them again.
• The card warns about the results channel. The channel is set, but the bot can no longer see it. Pick a new one next time you open a window.
• I want to undo a settlement. You cannot. Sort it out by hand with the owners involved.
• The tab says opening a window is part of a paid plan. It is — the tab shows a See the plans link if your league's plan does not include it.
• I can't see this tab. Ask your league owner — the tabs a helper can open are set in Front Office → League Access, in the Tab Access list.
