How do I use the Active Check page?
It posts a check-in message in a channel you pick and asks every team owner to tap the tick within a time limit. Anyone who does not gets your Inactive role.
Where to find it
On the website: sidebar League → Moderation, then the Active Check tab across the top.
In the app: More → Moderation, then pick Active Check from the Choose a section dropdown.
Set the roles first
Active Check hands out Discord roles, and those roles are set somewhere else: Front Office → Special Roles, where you choose an Active Role and an Inactive Role. If the Inactive role is not set yet, the Active Check tab tells you and points you there.
What it does
Owners who do not check in before the window closes get your Inactive role. That is the whole mechanism — the role is the result, and what it means in your league is up to you.
It only asks team owners. Members with no team are never counted and never marked. The tab tells you how many owners will be asked.
The settings, in the order they appear
- Active Check — the master switch.
- Check-In Channel — where the check-in post goes. Text channels only. Pick one before turning check-ins on.
- Role To Ping — who gets tagged when a check-in opens. Optional — leave it on Nobody — just post it and the post goes up without a ping.
- How Long Owners Get (Minutes) — how long before the check-in closes itself. An hour if you change nothing; anything from five minutes to a week.
- Under Reminders And Messages: Keep Reminding Them re-posts in the channel while the check is open, as often as Remind Every (Minutes) says. Warn By Direct Message privately messages anyone who has not checked in yet, with the minutes-left lead time you set — and What The Message Says lets you write that message in your own words, or leave it blank for ours.
Then Save Check-In Settings.
Running one
Start A Check-In Now posts a real check in your real channel and starts the real timer — it is not a rehearsal.
Starting a new check while one is already running starts everyone over, so finish one before you begin another.
You can also run it from Discord: /active check posts a new check, and /active status shows how the current one is going without opening the dashboard.
While a check is running
A banner at the top of the tab shows how many have checked in, how many are still to go, and when it closes.
Close It Early does exactly what the timer would have done, immediately: anyone who has not checked in gets the Inactive role and the check closes. It is not a cancel button. There is no cancel button.
Active Check and Activity Tracking are separate switches
The same tab carries a second card, Activity Tracking, which notices who is chatting and who has gone quiet and can hand out your Active and Inactive roles once a day on its own. It has its own switch and its own Save Activity Tracking button.
Turning Active Check on does not turn Activity Tracking on, and turning either off never touches the other. If you want both, switch both on.
Common problems
- An owner never got asked. Only team owners are asked. If someone owns a team in Madden but has no team role in Discord, they are invisible to this.
- The settings will not save. Active Check needs an Elite plan — the tab says so if your league is not on one. Also check you picked a Check-In Channel before switching it on.
- A helper cannot see the Active Check tab. Their access list does not include it. The owner grants it under Front Office → League Access.
- Nobody got the Inactive role after the check closed. Check the Inactive role is actually set under Front Office → Special Roles — without it there is nothing to hand out.
