Where do I set the Commissioner, Waitlist and other league roles?
The six league-wide roles — Commissioner, Co-Commissioner, Waitlist, League Member, Active and Inactive — live in the Front Office Hub, on the Special Roles tab. Pick a Discord role for each and press Save Special Roles once at the bottom.
Where to find it
On the website: open the Front Office Hub in the sidebar, then the Special Roles tab.
On your phone: More → Front Office, then pick Special Roles from the Choose a section dropdown.
What this tab is for
Everything else the bot does with roles is built on this list. The Active Check hands out the Active and Inactive roles named here. Team assignment adds the League Member role named here and takes the Waitlist role back off. Claims and trades ping the Commissioner role named here.
Leave a slot empty and the thing that depends on it quietly does nothing.
What each one is for
- Commissioner Role — full control of the league, and the role that gets tagged whenever a commissioner decision is needed, like a claim or a trade.
- Co-Commissioner Role — one shared role for your other commissioners, with fewer permissions than the main commissioner role.
- Waitlist Role — your onboarding role, given to anyone who joins without a team. It comes off again when they are given one.
- League Member Role — for members who have a team.
- Active Role and Inactive Role — the Active role is added when a member gets their team; the Inactive role is swapped in when someone misses an Active Check.
The old Player Upgrades ping role is no longer on this list — it moved in with the upgrade queue, on the XP Hub's Pending Upgrades tab.
Step by step
- Pick a role from each dropdown. If the role does not exist yet, press New next to the slot and the bot creates it in Discord for you.
- To empty a slot, choose -- Not Set --.
- Press Save Special Roles once at the bottom. That one button saves every slot together — there is no per-row save.
- Check the bot's own role sits above all of them in Discord's role list.
The waitlist role and its switch are two separate things
The banner at the top of the tab tells you which of three states you are in:
- Nothing picked yet — it asks you to pick a waitlist role below and save.
- Picked, but the feature is off — it warns that "Auto-role when someone joins" is off and nobody gets the role until you turn it on. The switch is Auto-Role on Join in the Features Hub, and the warning links you straight there.
- Working — it names the role every new member will receive.
So if new members are getting nothing, read that banner first. It already knows which half is missing.
One role cannot be both
The Waitlist role and the Inactive role must be two different Discord roles. They do opposite jobs — one greets people who just arrived, the other marks people who went quiet — and the page tells you the moment you point both slots at the same role: "Inactive and Waitlist must be two different roles." The save is refused until they differ.
Common problems
- The dropdowns came up unusable. The bot could not read your server's roles when the page loaded. Nothing was saved. Refresh the page and try again.
- New members get nothing. Read the banner at the top — either no Waitlist role is picked, or Auto-Role on Join is off in the Features Hub, or the bot's role sits below the waitlist role in Discord.
- They got the role but still see nothing. The role itself has no channel permissions. This tab hands out the role; what the role can see is Discord's side.
- Nobody is getting Active or Inactive. Picking the roles here is only half of it. The sweep that hands them out is the Active Check, on the Moderation Hub.
- I cannot see the Front Office Hub at all. It was not given to you. Ask whoever runs the league to grant it under Front Office → League Access.
