How do I set up reaction roles?
Post a message members react to in order to give themselves a role. It lives in the Front Office Hub, on the Self-Pick Roles tab: create the panel, then add one emoji and role at a time. Twenty choices per panel, maximum.
Where to find it
On the website: open the Front Office Hub in the sidebar, then the Self-Pick Roles tab.
On your phone: More → Front Office, then pick Self-Pick Roles from the Choose a section dropdown.
What this is for
Roles nobody should have to ask for. Ping me for game reminders. Ping me for trades. I stream. I am around for late-night games.
The bad use is anything that grants access or status. A member should not be able to hand themselves a commissioner-adjacent role by clicking an emoji, and anything team-related will be overwritten by the bot's team-role automation anyway.
Step by step
- Check the top of the section first. If reaction roles are switched off, a warning tells you so — press Switch On Reaction Roles before you build anything. (The same switch is Reaction Roles in the Features Hub.)
- In the Create a Panel card, pick the Channel the message goes in.
- Write a Message Title and the Message Text.
- Under Choices, pick One Role Each or Any Combination.
- Press Create Panel. The bot posts the message in Discord straight away, with no choices on it yet.
- Find it under Your Panels, add your first Emoji and Role, then press Add. Repeat for each choice.
- React to it yourself to check it works.
One Role Each versus Any Combination
One Role Each means one role from that panel at a time. Picking a new one takes the previous one off.
Any Combination lets members hold as many roles from that panel as they like.
Either way it works both directions: tap to get the role, tap again to remove it. Members can opt out the same way they opted in.

Discord allows at most twenty different emoji reactions on a single message. Each panel under Your Panels shows how many it has used — "of 20 choices used" — and tells you plainly when it is full.
If you want all 32 teams, make two panels — for example A to L and M to Z.
The panel that looks fine and does nothing
If the Reaction Roles feature is switched off, everything still appears to work. The message posts. Members react. The reactions sit there. And no role is ever handed out.
The Self-Pick Roles tab warns you about this: "Reaction roles are switched off. Tapping one gives nobody a role." — with a Switch On Reaction Roles button right under it. If you see that warning, press the button before you spend an evening debugging a panel that was never switched on.
Common problems
- Reacting does nothing. Either reaction roles are switched off (see the warning above), or the bot's role sits below the role it is trying to hand out in Discord's role list. Discord will not let a bot grant a role above its own.
- The message lost its reactions, or I deleted it. Create the panel again. The bot watches one specific message, and a re-posted message is a different one.
- I deleted the role in Discord. The panel shows that choice as pointing at a role that has since been deleted. Remove that choice and add a new one pointing at a live role.
- I deleted a panel — did members lose their roles? No. Anyone who already got a role keeps it. Deleting only stops future clicks from doing anything.
- I cannot see the Front Office Hub at all. It was not given to you. Ask whoever runs the league to grant it under Front Office → League Access.
