How do I use the Upgrades page?

The upgrade queue lives in the XP Hub, on the Pending Upgrades tab. It is one list of every XP purchase your members have made — attribute upgrades and dev-trait upgrades — with an Approve and a Turn down button on each open one, plus the settings for who clears the queue and what clearing it pays.

Where to find it

On the website: open your league in the sidebar and click XP, then the Pending Upgrades tab across the top.

On your phone: tap the green League button — the green circle with a sliders icon in the lower right of any league page (customers call it "the green slider") — pick XP, then open the Dashboard Sections menu at the top (in a phone browser it is a dropdown) and pick Pending Upgrades.

What this page is for

When a member spends XP on a player, the XP leaves their team's balance straight away and the request lands here marked Open. Nothing has happened in Madden yet.

That is the part to be clear about before anything else makes sense. Approving does not change your game. It marks the request done, and pays the helper reward if that is switched on. You still open Madden and set the player up yourself — the row tells you the team, the player, and what was bought.

You can also work the same queue in Discord with /claims_open — either way it lands in the same place.

How a member asks for one

A member spends the XP themselves: /upgrade in Discord (attribute or dev trait — /prices shows what your league charges), or on the website by opening a player from the Roster page of their My Team pages and submitting the boosts there. Both land in this same queue. On a phone it is the same two doors — the Discord app, or My Team in the bottom bar, then a player from Roster. What they bought waits on their My Upgrades page until you approve it.

The three settings at the top

Three cards sit above the queue, each with its own Save button.

Reward For Completing An Upgrade pays the person who does the work in game. The Pay A Reward switch is on to start with, and XP Each Time starts at 250 — that is what one completed upgrade pays, credited to the helper's team. This is what stops the whole queue landing on one person.

Who Can Complete An Upgrade picks one Discord role that may mark upgrades done without being a commissioner. Left unset, only commissioners can.

Who Gets Told picks a role that gets pinged when someone asks for an upgrade. Left unset, nobody is pinged.

Reading the queue

Above the list are three tiles: Open upgrades (how many are waiting), Completed (how many have ever been done), and Open XP committed (the XP riding on the open ones). Turned-down upgrades count in neither tile — they only appear in the list itself, under the All filter.

Each row shows the team, the player, whether it is an attribute or a dev-trait upgrade, how many steps, whether it is Open, Done or Turned down, and when it was asked for. The player's name links to their page.

A Status filter narrows the list to Open, Completed or All, and a Team filter narrows it to one team. Reset clears both.

The two decisions

Approve marks the upgrade done. It shows as Done from then on.

Turn down opens a small box asking Why? (optional). The XP goes back to the team's balance automatically — you never hand it back yourself — and the bot posts a notice in Discord with your reason, in the same channel the request landed in. If you leave the reason blank, the notice says no reason was provided, so a sentence the team can read is worth typing. The row stays in the list marked Turned down, with no buttons — you will find it under the All filter.

Neither can be undone from this page. If you turned something down by mistake, the team simply asks for it again; if you need to move XP by hand, the Give Or Take XP card on the XP Hub's Overview tab does that.

Step by step

  1. Open the XP Hub and click Pending Upgrades.
  2. Set the Status filter to Open.
  3. Work through the rows, setting each player up in Madden as you go.
  4. Click Approve on the ones you have done. Use Turn down on anything wrong, with a short reason — the XP goes back on its own.

Common problems

  • The XP Hub has gone from my menu. Someone switched the XP feature off in the Features Hub. The whole XP economy goes with it, including this queue. If you help run the league and other Hubs show but XP does not, the license owner has not granted it to you — that lives under Front Office → League Access.
  • I approved one and nothing changed in Madden. That is how it works. Approving records the decision; setting the player up in the game is still yours to do.
  • A member says their XP is gone and nothing happened. It is spent the moment they ask, not when you approve. Their request is sitting in the queue marked Open. Turning it down gives the XP back.
  • Someone who is not a commissioner needs to help. Set the role under Who Can Complete An Upgrade.
  • It says an upgrade was already handled. Someone else got there first, here or in Discord. Refresh the page.
  • The list says it is showing the newest five hundred. The list draws the newest five hundred matching rows and says so underneath when there are more. The three tiles above count every open and completed upgrade the league has ever had — only the list itself is capped.
