How do I turn on Bonus XP for invites?
Turn this on to pay a member's team XP when someone joins through their invite. If the newcomer leaves again quickly the XP is taken straight back, so it does not reward padding the numbers. You post the invite board from the dashboard, then switch the feature on from the board itself in Discord.
Where to find it
On a computer: in the left sidebar, click XP, then open the Earning tab and find the XP For Inviting People card.
On your phone: tap More, open XP under your league's Hubs, then pick Earning from the Choose a section dropdown.
What it does
When someone joins through a member's invite, that member's team earns bonus XP. If the new member leaves again soon, the XP is taken back.

Step by step
- Open the XP page and go to the Earning tab.
- On the XP For Inviting People card, pick a channel in Where To Post The Board and press Post The Invite Board. The bot posts a fresh board each time you save.
- In Discord, find the board — it is titled Invite XP Rewards — and press Turn ON. The board shows the current status, the XP per invite, and the hold period.
- Want different numbers? Press Set XP Amount or Set Hold Days on the same board. A fresh league starts at 500 XP per invite with a 7-day hold.
- Tell your league it exists. Nobody invites for a reward they do not know about.
The clawback is the point
Paying for invites without one is how a league fills up with accounts that joined, collected, and left. So:
- Someone joins on a member's invite → that member's team is paid.
- That person leaves again inside the hold period → the XP comes back off.
- They stay past the hold period → the XP locks in for good.
A member can end up below zero if they were paid for several people who all left. That is deliberate and it is not a bug — the debt is real, and it clears itself as they earn.
Both the payout and the taking-back post a receipt in the XP receipts channel, so nothing moves invisibly.
This is not the same as referral rewards
There are two invite features and they do opposite jobs. This one pays on arrival and claws it back if they leave. Referral rewards pay nothing on arrival and pay the inviter only once the newcomer has stayed a set number of days and played a set number of games.
They are separate settings on the same Earning tab and you can run both, one, or neither.
Common problems
- A member's balance went negative. Their invitees left inside the hold period, so the XP was taken back. It is meant to be able to go below zero.
- Nobody is getting invite XP. Check the board in Discord says the feature is ON — the on/off switch lives on the board, not on the dashboard. Also, Discord only attributes a join to an invite it can still see: an invite that was deleted, or that expired and was remade, credits nobody.
- Two people claim the same invite. Discord attributes a join to exactly one link. Whoever's link was actually used gets it.
- I can't see this setting. If XP is missing from your sidebar, either the XP feature is switched off on the Features page, or — if you are a helper rather than the owner — you have not been given that page in Front Office → League Access.
