How do I ping a player when their upgrade is done in game?
Pick the channel where members get tagged once their upgrade has actually been made in Madden. Set it together with the switch directly under it — one without the other does nothing.
Where to find it
On a computer: in the left sidebar, click XP, then open the Rules & Setup tab. The picker is the Upgrade Finished Pings box on the Where XP Gets Posted card, with the Tell Members When Their Upgrade Is Done switch directly under it.
On your phone: tap More, open XP under your league's Hubs, then pick Rules & Setup from the Choose a section dropdown.
What it does
Where the bot tags a member after their approved upgrade has been marked complete. The card shows the change they got — before and after — so there is nothing to ask.

Step by step
- Pick a channel members can read. The upgrades channel is the natural home.
- Open the XP page and go to the Rules & Setup tab.
- On the Where XP Gets Posted card, pick your channel in the Upgrade Finished Pings box.
- Turn on Tell Members When Their Upgrade Is Done directly below it, then press Save The XP Rooms.
- Mark an upgrade complete, and check the tag lands.
This box and the switch below are one setting in two halves
- Channel set, switch off — nothing happens.
- Channel empty, switch on — nothing happens.
- Channel set, switch on — the member is tagged the moment their upgrade is marked done.
The switch decides whether members are told; this box decides where. Set them together or set neither — doing one half is the most common way this feature looks broken.
Common problems
- I set the channel and nothing happens. The switch below is off. They only work as a pair.
- The tag went to the wrong place. It goes exactly where this box points. Change it here.
- Can it DM them instead? No. It tags them in this channel, which also lets the rest of the league see the upgrade landed.
- The channel got deleted and pings stopped. Pings never reroute on their own — repick a channel here. The upgrades themselves were still completed; only the announcement was skipped.
- I can't see this setting. If XP is missing from your sidebar, either the XP feature is switched off on the Features page, or — if you are a helper rather than the owner — you have not been given that page in Front Office → League Access.
