How do I set up Upgrade requests channel?
Pick the channel where upgrade requests land for you to approve. Without it members can ask for upgrades and nobody ever sees the request. There is also a switch under that picker, labelled Post Upgrade Requests. It is on unless you turn it off.
Where to find it
On a computer: in the left sidebar, click XP, then open the Rules & Setup tab. The picker is the Upgrade Requests box on the Where XP Gets Posted card.
On your phone: tap More, open XP under your league's Hubs, then pick Rules & Setup from the Choose a section dropdown.
What it does
Where a member's player-upgrade request is posted for a commissioner to approve. Approvals and denials update that same post.

Step by step
- Make a channel your commissioners can see. Members do not need to read it — they are told the outcome either way.
- Open the XP page and go to the Rules & Setup tab.
- On the Where XP Gets Posted card, pick your channel in the Upgrade Requests box and press
Save The XP Rooms. - Have somebody request an upgrade, and check the card appears with Approve and Deny on it.
How a request flows
- A member spends XP on a player upgrade.
- A card posts here with the player, the change, and what it cost.
- A commissioner presses Approve or Deny. The same card updates in place — there is no second message to hunt for. The waiting requests also line up on the XP page's Pending Upgrades tab, so you can clear them from the website instead if you prefer.
- Approved upgrades still have to be made in Madden by hand.
The card updating in place is deliberate. A channel full of stale "pending" cards is how leagues lose track of what they still owe.
The switch that stops the cards
Post Upgrade Requests sits under the channel picker on the same card. It is on unless you turn it off.
Off, no new request card is posted. Your channel stays picked, so switching it back on starts them again with nothing to set up.
Everything else carries on exactly as before:
- Members can still spend XP on an upgrade with
/claim, and the XP still leaves their balance. - Requests already sitting in the channel still work — Approve and Deny still do their job on them.
- Waiting requests still line up on the XP page's Pending Upgrades tab, which is where you clear them from with this switched off.
Turning this off without using Pending Upgrades is how a league quietly builds a queue nobody is answering. If you switch it off, tell your commissioners where the requests moved to.
Common problems
- Requests are not appearing. Post Upgrade Requests is off, the channel is not set, or the bot cannot post in it. Both are worth checking before blaming the member.
- I approved it and the member did not know. Approving updates the request card; it does not message the member on its own.
- The card still says pending after I pressed Approve. Refresh Discord. The edit is applied to the original message and Discord sometimes shows a cached copy.
- Members can see this channel and argue in it. Nothing requires members to see it. Most leagues hide it from everyone but commissioners.
- I can't see this setting. If XP is missing from your sidebar, either the XP feature is switched off on the Features page, or — if you are a helper rather than the owner — you have not been given that page in Front Office → League Access.
