How do I turn on Tell members when their upgrade is done?
Turn this on so a member is tagged the moment their upgrade is actually applied in Madden. It is the difference between approved and done, and it stops the same question being asked twice a week.
Where to find it
On a computer: in the left sidebar, click XP, then open the Rules & Setup tab. The switch is Tell Members When Their Upgrade Is Done on the Where XP Gets Posted card, directly under the Upgrade Finished Pings box.
On your phone: tap More, open XP under your league's Hubs, then pick Rules & Setup from the Choose a section dropdown.
What it does
Tags the requesting member in the channel picked above once their in-game upgrade is marked complete. The card shows what they got, so the answer arrives before the question.

Step by step
- Open the XP page and go to the Rules & Setup tab.
- On the Where XP Gets Posted card, set Upgrade Finished Pings to the channel the tag should appear in.
- Turn Tell Members When Their Upgrade Is Done on and press Save The XP Rooms.
- Mark an upgrade complete, and check the member gets tagged.
Approved is not done
These are two different moments, and members feel the gap between them:
- Approved — you accepted the request and took the XP. Recorded on the request card.
- Done — somebody went into Madden and actually made the change.
Without this switch a member only ever sees the first one, which is why leagues get "did my upgrade go through?" for days afterwards. Turning it on is the cheapest support saving on this page.
Common problems
- Nobody is being tagged. This switch needs a channel. Set Upgrade Finished Pings just above it — with no channel there is nowhere to tag them. They only work as a pair.
- They got tagged but the upgrade was not made yet. The tag fires when the upgrade is marked complete. If that is being done before the change is made in Madden, it is a habit to fix rather than a setting.
- A member was tagged twice. They should not be — each upgrade sends its ping once, even if two commissioners mark it done at the same moment. If you are seeing doubles, they are two different upgrades.
- Too noisy. Point Upgrade Finished Pings at your upgrades channel rather than general chat.
- I can't see this setting. If XP is missing from your sidebar, either the XP feature is switched off on the Features page, or — if you are a helper rather than the owner — you have not been given that page in Front Office → League Access.
