Short answer
Building a trade and sending it are two different steps, and the gap between them is the number one trade confusion. /trade builder puts the deal together, but nothing is submitted until you press the green Send Trade button — or until you run /trade send with a screenshot. If your league saw a nice trade picture but no vote ever started, this is why.
The two ways to send a trade
Both happen in Discord, in your league's server, and both end in the same place: a numbered trade your league votes on.
Way 1 — build it piece by piece: /trade builder
- Run
/trade builder. It knows which team is yours — no options to fill in. (This is the command that used to be called/trade_center.) - Pick the team you are trading with, then add players and draft picks for each side. If your league allows XP in trades, there is a button for that too.
- When the deal looks right, press Send Trade — the green button. That submits it for real.
Show Image to Chat only posts a picture of the deal so people can look at it. It does not send anything. Picture posted, no vote started — that is the difference between the two buttons.
Way 2 — screenshot the deal: /trade send
- Agree the deal in game (or in chat) and take a screenshot of it.
- Run
/trade send, attach the screenshot, and pick the team you are trading with. If XP is part of the deal, fill in the XP amounts too.
What happens after you send
- The trade posts in your league's trade channel as Trade # with its own number, showing both sides of the deal.
- The post has Approve and Deny buttons. Your league's voters press them, and the trade passes once it reaches the number of votes your league requires.
- Most leagues also get a discussion thread on every trade, and an announcement telling everyone where to vote — How do trade threads work? covers that.
- A commissioner can veto a pending trade, and you can take back one you sent with
/trade canceland its trade number.
Trades are not posting — what to check
If you pressed send and the trade did not appear, or the bot refused it, work down this list:
- Did you actually send it? A generated picture is not a submission. Run
/trade builderagain and press Send Trade, or use/trade sendwith a screenshot. - Is the trade deadline on? When a commissioner freezes trading, every submission is refused until it is lifted. The bot tells you when this is the reason.
- Is there already an open trade? Some leagues allow only one pending trade per team at a time. If your team — or the other team — already has one waiting on votes, it has to finish first.
- Too much XP? Leagues that allow XP in trades set a maximum per trade. Stay at or under it.
- The trade sent, but nothing posted anywhere. The league has no trade channel picked. A commissioner fixes that on the website: the Teams Hub, Trades tab, Channels card — pick the Forum channel. How do I use the Trades page? walks through it.
On your phone
Trades are sent in Discord, and the Discord app on your phone runs the same commands the same way — /trade builder and /trade send both work from a phone.
If your league is on the Elite plan, you can also build one on the site: tap My Team in the bottom bar, open the Team Pages menu at the top (in a phone browser it is a dropdown), and under Economy tap Propose a Trade. It ends in the same numbered trade and the same vote.
