How do I use Roster Protection?

Where to find it
- Open the sidebar → Moderation → Roster Protection tab. On a phone, open More, tap Moderation, and pick Roster Protection from the Choose a section dropdown.
Step by step
- Switch on Watch Every Roster Export.
- Pick the Alert Channel — where the bot posts a roster-protection warning.
- If you want somebody tagged when an alert fires, pick an Alert Ping Role. Optional.
- Decide whether to switch on Remove Repeat Offenders — it kicks somebody who does it again, instead of only warning you.
- Press Save Roster Protection.
The defaults in the Fine-Tuning drawer — how big a drop counts, how many players it must affect, how far back to look — suit most leagues. Change them only if you have a reason.
Letting somebody tear a roster down on purpose
Some roster demolition is legitimate: a commissioner tidying up, or an owner mid-rebuild who was told to do exactly that. The People The Alerts Ignore card is how you say "this person is allowed" without switching the whole thing off.
- In Who Should The Alerts Ignore?, choose the person. The list is your league's team owners, by gamertag.
- Press Ignore This Owner. They appear in the card above with a Stop Ignoring button next to them.
- To undo it, press Stop Ignoring. Their roster moves start triggering alerts again immediately.
Somebody on this list is still watched — the checks run on them exactly as on everybody else. What changes is that it stays quiet: no alert, and no automatic removal. So the list is safe to use generously.
Why the list shows gamertags, not Discord names
The list follows the EA account, not the Discord account. That is deliberate — the bot is reading what happened in Madden, and the person who did it is an EA user. It also means one person with two EA accounts needs both added.
The picker only knows who your owners are once your Madden league is connected. If nobody appears, connect the league first.
Banned gamertags
The Banned Gamertags card on the same tab is the harder tool: anyone using a gamertag on that list is removed from your Madden league. Add names one per line — their Madden gamertag, not their Discord name — with an optional reason, and press Ban These Gamertags. Allow Again takes a name back off.
It needs the Elite plan
Roster Protection is an Elite feature — the tab says so if your league is on a lower plan, and saving is refused there. Nothing is lost when that happens; your settings are simply left as they were. The Banned Gamertags list works on every plan.
Common problems
- Nobody appears in the picker. Your Madden league is not connected, or the owner list could not be read. Connect the league and refresh.
- I added somebody and alerts kept coming. Check it is the same EA account. One person with two EA accounts needs both on the list.
- The alerts are not firing at all. Check Watch Every Roster Export is on and an Alert Channel is picked, then press Save Roster Protection.
- The tab is missing. Ask the licence owner — access to Moderation's sections is granted per person in Front Office → League Access.
