How do I set up Member departures channel?
Pick a channel and every departure gets a card showing when they joined and how long they stayed. The picker lives in the Moderation Hub, on the Joining & Leaving tab. Together with the joins channel it tells you whether people are leaving quickly, which is the number that actually matters.
Where to find it
On the website: open your league, click Moderation in the sidebar, then open the Joining & Leaving tab. Look for the Telling You Who Came And Went card.
On your phone: More → Moderation, then pick Joining & Leaving from the dropdown at the top of the page.
What it does
Posts a card whenever somebody leaves your server — when they joined, how long they were here, and how many members you have left.
Step by step
- Use the same commissioners-only channel as joins, or a separate one.
- On the Joining & Leaving tab, find the Telling You Who Came And Went card and set Member Departures Channel to it.
- Press Save These Channels, then read the channel once a week. The pattern is worth more than any single card.
The switch that stops the cards
Post Member Departure Cards sits under the channel picker on the same card. It is on unless you turn it off.
Off, departures go unannounced. The channel above stays saved, and the joins side has its own separate switch — turning one off leaves the other running.
How long they stayed is the useful number
One person leaving tells you nothing. Five people leaving inside a week of joining tells you something specific: they arrived, looked around, and did not find a reason to stay. That usually means no open teams, or nobody spoke to them.
It also catches the quiet version of griefing — somebody who joins, takes a team, plays badly for a week and vanishes. The card shows exactly how short that was.
Common problems
- It says they left but they were kicked. The card records the departure either way. Which it was is in the moderation log.
- Nothing posts. Three things to check, in this order: Post Member Departure Cards is switched off, the channel is not set, or your league has no active license — join and departure cards only run for licensed leagues.
- Does their team free up? That is handled separately by the bot's own departure handling, not by this card. This is a record, not an action.
- I can't see this setting. Ask your league owner — the tabs a helper can open are set in Front Office → League Access, in the Tab Access list.
