How do I turn on Trades?

The master switch for trading. On, members propose player and pick trades, the league votes, and commissioners approve or veto them. It is on by default; the switch lives in the Features Hub and all the settings live in the Teams Hub.

Where to find it

On the website: open your league in the sidebar and click Features, then find the Trades switch. The settings live in the Teams Hub's Trades section.

In the app: tap More, open Features under your league for the switch; open Teams and choose Trades from the section picker for the settings.

The command members use

Members also get Propose a Trade, My Trades and Trade Block pages on their My Team pages while trading is on.

Step by step

  1. Open the Features Hub and check Trades is on.
  2. Open the Teams Hub and choose the Trades section. Under Channels, pick your Trade-block channel, Trade-market channel, Forum channel and Announcement channel. Without a forum channel, no trade can open a voting thread and nothing is posted publicly at all — the page says so if one is missing. Two switches sit beside those pickers: Post trades publicly and Announce in that channel, both on to start with.
  3. Set the Voting Rules — Minimum votes required and Approval percentage — and anything you want under Roles and Trade Rules. Each card has its own Save button.

When trades are waiting on a decision, that same section says so at the top and the Open trade moderation button takes you to the voting, veto and cancel controls.

What goes with it

Off, members can no longer propose trades, the trade commands leave Discord and the Trade Center closes. Past trades stay in your league history.

It does not touch free agency or the draft. Those are their own sections in the Teams Hub, and they keep working with trades switched off.

Most leagues never touch this switch. The things people actually want to change — votes required, approval percentage, a deadline — are all in the Teams Hub's Trades section and none of them need this.

Common problems

  • I want to freeze trading for a while. Use Trade deadline active under Trade Rules in the Teams Hub's Trades section, rather than the master switch. On, nobody can start a trade, but trades already open keep voting.
  • Trades are not opening discussion threads. That is its own switch: Open a discussion thread on every trade, under Trade Threads in the same section. Off, a trade just posts in the announcement channel.
  • Nothing is posted publicly at all. Different switch: Post trades publicly, next to the Forum channel picker. Off, trades are still filed and still voted on from the dashboard — they simply never appear in Discord. Check the forum channel is set too, because a blank one no longer falls back to posting elsewhere.
  • Nothing is waiting for me but members say they proposed a trade. Check the feature is on, and check the Trades section's status card — it shows how many trades are waiting.
  • Members cannot see the trade commands. Discord caches its command list after a change. It clears by itself.
  • I can't see this setting. The switch lives in the Features Hub. If you help run the league but a Hub is missing from your sidebar, the license owner has not granted it to you — they can change that under Front Office → League Access.
