How do I turn on Teach the AI assistant?

Turn on AI Assistant Learning in the Features Hub and commissioners can correct the assistant — league facts it got wrong, the tone you want, and phrases to avoid — so it stops repeating the same mistake. The teaching itself happens in the Extras Hub, or with /teach in Discord.

Where to find it

On the website: open your league in the sidebar and click Features, then find the AI Assistant Learning switch.

In the app: tap More, open Features under your league, then find the AI Assistant Learning switch.

The command commissioners use

Step by step

  1. Open the Features Hub and turn AI Assistant Learning on.
  2. Open the Extras Hub and choose the Assistant section. Scroll to What You Have Taught It.
  3. Type the correction under What It Should Say Or Do — one fact, one rule, or one thing to avoid. Under When It Should Use That, say when it applies, or leave it blank and it always applies. Pick What Kind it is, then click Teach It.
  4. When the assistant gets something wrong in Discord, correct it there and then with /teach rather than ignoring it.

If you see a warning on that page saying anything you teach is ignored, teaching is switched off — the Switch On Teaching button right there turns it on, same switch as the one in Features.

Correct it once, not every week

Without this the assistant makes the same mistake indefinitely, because nothing it is told in conversation survives. With it, a correction sticks: your league's rules, the names it keeps getting wrong, the phrases you would rather it did not use.

The corrections are yours and stay in your league. Nothing you teach it leaks into anybody else's.

The best time to use it is the first week. Whatever the assistant gets wrong about your league, it will keep getting wrong until somebody tells it.

Common problems

  • It ignored a correction. Corrections steer it; they are not hard rules. A correction phrased as a fact sticks better than one phrased as a mood.
  • It contradicts itself. Two corrections that disagree. Open Extras → Assistant, read the list under What You Have Taught It, and click Forget It on the older one.
  • Who can teach it? Commissioners and co-commissioners. It is not open to every member, for obvious reasons.
  • I turned the switch off — did I lose everything it learned? No. Everything already taught is kept, not deleted, and the assistant still answers questions like before. You just cannot add new corrections until it is back on.
  • I can't see this setting. It lives in the Features Hub. If you help run the league but the Features Hub is missing from your sidebar, the license owner has not granted it to you — they can change that under Front Office → League Access.
