How do I open my league's story archive?
Every story your league's news feed has ever written, newest first. Gameday's The Latest Stories card shows the newest few — the Open the story archive button under that card opens the full archive, where you can click any story to read the whole thing, plus what happened in your league to cause it.
Where to find it
- Open the sidebar → Gameday → Newswire tab. On a phone, open More, tap Gameday, and pick Newswire from the Choose a section dropdown.
- Scroll to The Latest Stories and press Open the story archive.
You land on the archive's Articles view, headed Newswire — Published Articles.
What the archive shows
Each story is one row showing what kind of story it is, which reporter voice wrote it, how the bot rated it, the opening line, and when it was written.
Click a row and it opens out to show:
- Generated text — the full story exactly as it was posted.
- Posting — whether it went out and when. A story that never went out says "(not posted)" — usually it is just waiting its turn, because the feed paces itself: one story every five minutes, up to ten every 12 hours.
- What triggered this story — the thing that happened in your league that caused it. A trade, a result, a signing.
- Details and Notes — the underlying facts the story was built from.
That third one is the useful one. If a story reads oddly, opening it tells you whether the bot got the facts wrong or just phrased it strangely.
Narrowing it down
Use the Type and Voice dropdowns above the list to filter it, press the button beside them to apply, and the X to clear the filter again.
The Story Queue button near the top takes you to the stories that have not been published yet. The number on it is how many are waiting.
The Post channel card
The archive also carries a Post channel card — the channel your stories go to. It is the same setting as League news feed channel on Gameday's Newswire tab; changing it in either place changes both. If no channel is set, the feed writes nothing at all — see How do I set up my league's news feed?
Common problems
- It says "No articles in this view". If you have a filter set, clear it with the X first — you may just be filtering everything out. With no filter, an empty list means the feed has not written anything yet: either no channel is set (the feed stays off until one is), or the league has not exported anything for it to write about.
- It says "No league linked". The server has not connected a Madden league. There is a link on the page to EA Setup.
- I cannot see the Open the story archive button. It only appears once a league is connected. If the league is connected and you still cannot see it, ask the licence owner — access is granted per person in Front Office → League Access.
- A story got a fact wrong. Open it and look at "What triggered this story". If the underlying facts are right and only the wording is off, that is the writing being generated. If the facts themselves are wrong, that is worth reporting.
- I want to delete a story. There is no delete here. If a story is already in Discord, delete the Discord message.
