How do I set up my league's news feed?
The Newswire is your league's own news feed. The bot writes up signings, upsets, trades and results like a sports feed and posts them to a channel you choose. It lives in the Gameday Hub, and until you pick a channel the feed writes nothing at all.
Where to find it
- Open the sidebar → Gameday → Newswire tab. On a phone, open More, tap Gameday, and pick Newswire from the Choose a section dropdown.
Step by step
- Connect your Madden league first. The feed reports on real results, so with no league connected there is nothing to write about.
- Open Gameday → Newswire.
- In the Where the Feed Lives card, pick the League news feed channel the stories should go to and press Save channel.

- Export your league so there is something to write about.
- Come back to The Latest Stories whenever you want to see what has gone out and what is waiting its turn.
The switch that stops the feed
Post league news stories is the off switch, and it is the one to use if you want the feed to stop for a while.
Off, the channel stays picked and nothing new is published by anybody — not the reporters, not the regular round-ups, not members posting their own cards. Turn it back on and it starts again from that moment.
You no longer have to blank the channel to stop the feed. Blanking it still works, but it means setting the channel up again afterwards.
With no channel, no stories are written at all
This is the part worth understanding, because it decides where you go looking when the feed is silent.
The channel is not just a delivery address — it is the thing that makes the feed run. Leave it blank and the feed stays off: nothing is written, and picking a channel later does not release a backlog. The feed simply starts from that moment.
A league that is connected and receiving Madden data but has no news channel is flagged on the Overview Hub's Health tile, so if you have seen that warning, it is not a false one.
How often it posts
The tab says it plainly: one story every five minutes, up to ten every 12 hours. A story that has been written but not posted yet is waiting its turn.
Posting your own headline
The Make a News Card by Hand card at the bottom of the tab lets you write your own headline and post it as a card — press Build a news card.
Common problems
- The feed is completely silent. Three causes, in this order: Post league news stories is switched off; no channel is set, in which case nothing is being written at all, see above; or the league has not exported recently. The feed only reacts to things that actually happened.
- Stories show in The Latest Stories but not in Discord. Check the channel still exists and the bot can post in it. A channel that was deleted leaves the setting pointing at nothing.
- A story I was expecting never appeared. Stories wait their turn — the feed paces itself rather than flooding the channel. Give it time.
- I cannot see the Newswire tab. Ask the licence owner — access to Gameday's sections is granted per person in Front Office → League Access.
