How do I use the Wheel Spin page?

Everything about Wheel Spin lives in the XP Hub, on its Wheel Spin tab: whether the wheel is running, which channel it lives in, what the prizes are and how likely each one is, what a spin costs, and how long members wait between spins.

Where to find it

On the website: press XP in the sidebar, then the Wheel Spin tab.

On your phone: tap More → XP, then pick Wheel Spin from the Choose a section dropdown.

What it does

The wheel is a Bronze, Silver and Gold set of buttons sitting in a Discord channel. Members spend a spin of that colour for a chance at a prize. They can also spin with /spin bronze, /spin silver or /spin gold.

The tab is one column of cards, top to bottom. Each card saves on its own button.

Step by step

  1. On the Where The Wheel Lives card, pick a channel under The Wheel's Room and press Save And Post The Wheel. The bot posts the wheel there.
  2. On the Is The Wheel Switched On card, turn Let Members Spin on and press Save The Wheel Switch.
  3. Look at What The Prizes Are and How Likely Each Prize Is before you announce it to your league. The prizes that come out of the box are a starting point, not a recommendation.
  4. Set the wait under Spin Rules — Make Them Wait Between Spins and How Long They Wait, in minutes — and press Save The Spin Rules.

The warning about the channel

The bot keeps the wheel's channel tidy by clearing other messages out of it, so that only the wheel is showing. The card says it plainly: pick a channel kept for the wheel.

Never point it at a channel with conversation you want to keep — general chat, announcements, anything with history. This is the single most expensive mistake you can make on this tab and it cannot be undone.

If one channel is not enough, the Extra Rooms For The Wheel card posts the same wheel in up to five more channels — and it tidies those too.

Prizes, odds and prices

  • What The Prizes Are — every prize on each wheel and what it pays. Press Change What It Pays to edit one, Turn It Off to keep it but stop it coming up, or Add A Bronze Prize (and Silver, and Gold) to make your own. A prize can pay XP, spins, player improvements, a Discord role, or something you write yourself.
  • How Likely Each Prize Is — every prize on each wheel, the ones it came with included, on one row: Prize text is the words on the wheel and the spin card, Pays (XP) is what it pays, and Odds is how often it comes up (a bigger number means more often; every prize shows the percentage it works out to). Change any of them and press Save. A bust pays nothing, so it has no Pays box. Put Bronze Back To Normal resets a whole wheel's chances (the words and amounts stay as you set them).
  • What One Spin Costs and Nudge A Whole Wheel Up Or Down — the money side: how many spins a turn uses, and a single number that scales a whole wheel.
  • What A Spin Can Pay — the smallest and biggest XP prize on each wheel, worked out from the prizes you have switched on. It is not a setting: to change the range, change the prizes. Press Change The Prizes to jump to the list, then lower, remove or turn off the prize you do not want.

Changes show on the wheel straight away. You do not need to re-post it.

Buying spins with XP

The Buying Spins With XP card sets what a member pays to turn XP into a spin: XP For One Bronze Spin, XP For One Silver Spin and XP For One Gold Spin. Out of the box they cost 50, 250 and 750 XP — leave a box blank and press Save The Spin Prices to go back to the normal price.

Members do the buying on their own Wheel Spin page, in their Team Pages — its Buy Tokens With XP section charges exactly these prices. There is no buying in Discord any more; the buttons the wheel posts there are for spinning, not buying.

Set a price to 0 and that colour is not for sale at all — the buy button for it disappears from members' pages.

Two different off switches

This trips people up:

  • Let Members Spin, on this tab, pauses the wheel. The spin buttons stop working for everyone. Everything stays set up — handy for the off-season.
  • Wheel Spin, in the Features Hub, removes the whole feature. Wheel Spin is one of the switches that sits under XP there, so turning XP off takes the wheel with it.

Use the first for a short pause. Use the second when your league does not want a wheel at all.

Player prizes on or off

Under Spin Rules there is a switch — Let The Wheel Improve Players. Turn it off and every prize that changes a player is left out of all three wheels. Leagues that keep their rosters tightly controlled usually want this off.

Letting someone spin again

The Let Someone Spin Again card clears one member's wait so they can spin now: pick the member, pick Which Wheel — one colour or all three — and press Let Them Spin Again.

Common problems

  • The wheel is not in my channel. If you changed channel, press Save And Post The Wheel again to post it in the new one.
  • Members say the buttons do nothing. Check Let Members Spin is on. If it is, check whether they still have a spin of that colour, and whether they are inside their wait time.
  • Members are spinning far too often. Two separate controls do this: the wait under Spin Rules, and the caps at the bottom of this same tab, which cap how many spins are allowed over a stretch of real hours or Madden weeks.
  • The whole Wheel Spin tab is missing. Either you have not been given the Wheel Spin section by your league owner, or the XP feature is off — the XP Hub disappears entirely while XP is switched off in the Features Hub.
  • Where did the Tournament tab go? Tournaments have nothing to do with the wheel any more — they are their own tab in this same XP Hub, Tournaments.
