How do I turn on Give the Active role automatically?
Turn on Activity Tracking and, once a day, the bot hands your Active role to everyone who met the activity numbers — and takes the Inactive role off them. The Give The Active Role switch itself starts on; Activity Tracking is the part you actually turn on. Pick the role itself in Front Office first.
Where to find it
On the website: open your league, click Moderation in the sidebar, open the Active Check tab, and scroll to the Activity Tracking card.
In the app: More → Moderation → pick Active Check from the "Choose a section" menu → the Activity Tracking card.
What it does
Once a day, the bot gives the Active role to everyone who met the numbers under What Counts As Active — and takes the Inactive role off them, so the two never sit on the same person.
Step by step
- Pick an Active Role under Front Office → Special Roles. Without one there is nothing to hand out.
- Go to Moderation → Active Check and find the Activity Tracking card.
- Two switches share the name Activity Tracking, and both need to be on: the master one on the Features page, and the one at the top of this card.
- Check Give The Active Role is on — it starts on.
- Open What Counts As Active, set the numbers, and press Save Activity Tracking. Each card saves separately, so saving another card does not save this one.
It runs once a day, not instantly
The sweep is daily. Somebody who clears the bar this afternoon gets the role in the next run, not the moment they hit it. That is deliberate — a role that flickers on and off as somebody's message count crosses a line all day is worse than useless.
It also removes the Inactive role from anybody it marks active, so the two never sit on the same person. You do not need to clean that up by hand.
Common problems
- Nothing happened after I turned it on. Either no Active Role is picked under Front Office → Special Roles, one of the two Activity Tracking switches is still off, or the daily sweep has not run yet. Give it a day.
- The bot cannot add the role. Discord will not let a bot hand out a role that sits above its own in the role list. Drag the bot's role above the Active role.
- Somebody has both roles. They should not, once a sweep runs. If it persists, check the bot can actually remove the Inactive role.
- Can I do it manually as well? Yes. The sweep will not fight you on the next run unless their numbers say otherwise.
- Everything stopped at once. The sweep only runs for leagues with an active license. If yours lapsed, renew it and the sweep picks back up.
- I can't see the Moderation page. If you are a helper rather than the licence owner, the owner grants access under Front Office → League Access.
