There is also a switch under that picker, labelled Post Bets In That Room. It is on unless you turn it off.
Where to find it
On the website: open your league, click XP in the sidebar, then open the Betting tab. Look for the Where Betting Happens card.
On your phone: More → XP, then pick Betting from the dropdown at the top of the page.
If XP is missing from your menu, the XP feature is switched off in Features. Betting runs on XP, so it comes and goes with that switch.

Step by step
- Decide whether you want bets public. Public is more fun; private avoids needling.
- If public: on the Betting tab, find the Where Betting Happens card and set Where Members Place Bets to a channel members can read.
- If private: leave it empty. Everything still works; nobody sees anyone else's slip.
- Press the save button at the bottom of that card. Each card on the page saves on its own button.
Public or private is a real decision
Public makes betting a spectator sport. People see a big parlay go in and pile on, and the feed carries the week.
Private avoids the other thing: members who lost being reminded of it in public, and members needling each other over picks. Leagues with a history of friction usually leave it empty.
You can change your mind whenever. It only affects slips placed from that point on.
The switch that stops the posts
Under the picker is a switch labelled Post Bets In That Room. It is on unless you turn it off. Off, no bet slip is posted publicly, whatever channel is picked.
Everything else carries on exactly as before:
- Members can still place bets with
/bet. - Every bet is still recorded, still graded when the game finishes, and still pays out.
- Your smallest and biggest bet limits are still enforced.
- Your channel stays picked, so switching it back on needs no setting up.
Only the public slip stops.
Emptying the picker and switching this off both end up quiet. The difference is what you get back — switch it off and your channel is still waiting when you change your mind.
Common problems
- Slips are not posting. Three things do this: the channel is empty,
Post Bets In That Roomis off, or Betting is switched off. Betting has its own switch in Features — and XP is its parent switch, so turning XP off takes Betting with it. - I want slips private but results public. That is exactly what the two pickers are for. Leave this one empty and set Where Results Are Posted, right below it on the same card.
- Members are arguing about picks. Empty this picker. Bets keep working, quietly.
- I can't see the Betting tab. Ask your league owner — the tabs a helper can open are set in Front Office → League Access, in the Tab Access list.
