How do I set up Remind the waitlist every (hours)?

Where to find it

1. Open your dashboard and click Teams in the sidebar. On your phone, tap More, then Teams.
2. Open the Team Assignments tab. On your phone, pick Team Assignments from the Choose a section dropdown.
3. Scroll down to Who Is Waiting for a Team. The number box is labelled Remind the waitlist every (hours), on the Open-Team Pings card just under the Team Waitlist card. It has its own Save button.

What it does

Sets the gap between reminders while a team stays open. The first mention goes out the moment the seat opens; this controls everything after that. The reminders go to the people in the queue by name — or, if the queue is empty and you picked a Role to ping instead of everyone, to that role. With an empty queue and no role picked there are no reminders at all; reminders never go to @everyone.

Step by step

1. Decide how patient your league is. A busy league fills a seat in an evening; a quiet one might take a week.
2. Put the number of hours in the box. Blank means 4, 12 is a common choice, 24 is once a day. It takes 1 up to 168 (a week).
3. Press Save. The new gap is measured from the last mention that went out, so nothing left over from the old setting lands afterwards.

Choosing a number

• Blank — every 4 hours. The default.
• 1 – 3 — aggressive. Good for the 48 hours before a season starts, annoying the rest of the time.
• 4 – 12 — the sensible band for most leagues.
• 24 — once a day. Good for a quiet off-season. 168 is the most it takes: once a week.

The reminders stop by themselves the moment somebody takes the team. They do not run forever. The bot checks roughly every quarter hour, so a reminder can land a few minutes after the gap is up, not on the exact second.

Common problems

• I set it to 0 to turn reminders off. The box refuses anything below 1 — you get a message and nothing changes. To stop the reminders, switch off Ping when a team opens instead.
• I typed a big number and it would not save. The box takes 1 to 168. Anything outside that is refused with a message, and the old value stays.
• I typed 4 and meant 4 minutes. The box is hours. There is no minutes option.
• Reminders stopped and the team is still open. Somebody took the seat and gave it back, or Ping when a team opens or the master Let members join the waitlist switch was turned off — either one stops the reminders.
