The Washington Commanders topped the Dallas Cowboys 20-7 in a decisive Week 2 matchup of the 2031 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the season, Washington emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess while stifling the Cowboys at crucial moments. Tyler Shough was the standout performer for Washington, throwing for 260 yards and securing two touchdowns that propelled his team to victory. Meanwhile, Xavier Worthy had an impressive day receiving, racking up 174 yards that kept the Dallas defense on its heels. Kenneth Walker led the Cowboys in rushing with 53 yards, but their offense struggled to find rhythm against a stout Commanders defense. Defensively, the Commanders made a significant impact on the game, with Sonny Styles recording two crucial interceptions that shifted momentum in their favor. Brandon Finney Jr. also contributed with five total tackles, helping to contain the Dallas offense. The turning point came in the second quarter when Styles’ first interception set up a touchdown drive, giving Washington a lead they would not relinquish.
