In a thrilling Week 1 matchup, the Los Angeles Chargers narrowly defeated the Arizona Cardinals by a score of 17-13. Both teams entered the season eager to establish their identities, but it was the Chargers who emerged victorious, setting a positive tone for the year ahead. Carson Beck had a standout performance for the Cardinals, throwing for 252 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense. Marvin Harrison Jr. was a key target for Beck, racking up 136 receiving yards and proving to be a difficult matchup for the Chargers' secondary. However, the Chargers leaned on a balanced approach, with Keaton Mitchell contributing modestly on the ground with 36 rushing yards. Defensively, the Chargers managed to contain the Cardinals just enough to secure the win. Genesis Smith led the charge with three total tackles, while Kenny Moore II's two interceptions were crucial in shifting momentum back to Los Angeles. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Moore's second pick halted an Arizona drive, allowing the Chargers to maintain their slim lead and ultimately seal the victory.
