Where to find it
On the website: press Moderation in the sidebar, then open the Tickets tab and scroll to The Ticket Button Post.
On your phone: More → Moderation, then pick Tickets from the Choose a section dropdown.
The wording and the look
On The Ticket Button Post card:
- Heading — the title on the post.
- Wording — the paragraph under it. This is where you tell people what to expect, such as how quickly somebody usually replies.
- Colour — the stripe down the side of the post, picked from a colour swatch.
Under Fine-Tuning:
- Picture — sits in the top-right corner. Paste a web address to an image; most leagues use their logo.
- Footer — the small print along the bottom.
- First Message In A New Ticket — what somebody sees the moment their ticket opens. Worth more than the post wording: setting expectations here ("someone will be with you within a day") saves you the follow-up.
- Message When A Ticket Closes — goes on the closing card.
Press Save The Button Post when you are done. If the buttons are already posted in Discord, saving updates them there too.
Posting and refreshing
On the Put The Buttons In Discord card:
- Post The Buttons — shown when nothing is posted yet. Pick a channel and it goes out. You need at least one ticket type turned on first.
- Refresh The Buttons — shown once posted. Redraws the post in Discord on the spot, for when it looks stale or the saved changes did not take.
- Post Them Again — shown once posted, next to the channel picker. Publishes a fresh copy and updates that one from now on. The old post stays where it is and its buttons still open tickets — delete it in Discord if you do not want two working doors.
Common problems
- There are two posts now. Post Them Again publishes a new copy; saving alone would have updated the one you had. Delete the old message in Discord — until you do, both open tickets.
- The post is not updating. Press Save The Button Post first — the boxes only reach Discord when saved. If it still looks stale, press Refresh The Buttons.
- Refresh gives an error. Usually the post was deleted in Discord. Use Post Them Again instead.
- The picture is not showing. It must be a direct web address to an image file, not to a page that contains one.
- The post has no buttons. That is the Ticket Types card, not these two — add a type there and save.
