How do I use Achievements → Unlocks?
Everything that has been earned, newest first — plus the settings that decide what happens at the moment somebody earns one: where it gets announced, whether it also pays a token, and the controls to hand one out or take one back yourself.
Where to find it
On the website: click XP in the sidebar, then the Achievements tab, then Unlocks in the row of sections.
In the app: tap More, then XP, pick Achievements from the XP sections dropdown, then tap Unlocks.
What this section is for
Four things, top to bottom:
- Announcement channel — where the bot posts the celebration.
- Token rewards on unlocks — whether earning an achievement also pays out a token.
- Give an achievement by hand — for special awards, or to fix one the bot missed.
- The list — every unlock, with a button on each row to take it back.
Set the announcement channel first
This is the setting that decides whether achievements feel like anything. Leave it empty and everything still works — the achievement is earned, the XP is paid, it appears in the list here — but there is no post, so nobody in Discord ever finds out.
Pick a channel and press Save channel.
Token rewards
When Award tokens on achievement unlocks is on, two separate things can pay out:
- Every gold or platinum achievement automatically pays a silver token on top of its XP.
- Some individual achievements carry a bonus token of their own, written into the achievement itself — like the spin-ladder achievements paying spin tokens. Those pay whatever they say, at any tier.
So "bronze and silver never pay tokens" is not true — some carry their own. When the switch is off, achievements never pay tokens at all — just XP and the announcement. Turn it off if your league does not use tokens, then press Save tokens.
One more rule that catches people: in a ladder of achievements that all measure the same thing, only the highest rung you cleared in that moment pays. If somebody jumps from nothing to the 30-spin badge in one go, the 5 and 15 badges are recorded but pay no XP and no tokens.
Giving one out by hand
The bot hands out achievements on its own. Use this when you want to award something specially, or when a game got missed and somebody was cheated out of one.
- In the Team or member ID box, type the team's short code (like
SF) for a team achievement, or the member's Discord ID for a member one. This choice decides whether XP is paid — a team gets the achievement's XP, a member gets the badge and the announcement only. - Pick the achievement from the list.
- Stat value is the number recorded alongside it — leave it at 1 unless the number matters to you.
- Press Give. You will be asked to confirm.
Taking one back
The red button at the end of a row removes the unlock. What happens to the XP depends on who the achievement belonged to, and the difference surprises people:
- A team achievement — the XP is taken back off that team in full, and the announcement channel says how much was pulled back. It is taken even if that leaves the team below zero. That is deliberate: a commissioner's decision is not second-guessed.
- A member achievement — no XP moves at all. There is nothing to take back, because handing a member an achievement never paid them XP in the first place. The unlock disappears and the channel says so.
Use it for a mistake rather than as a punishment. Giving it again re-records the unlock.
Finding an old one
The list only shows the most recent unlocks. When there are more than it can show, a line above the table tells you how many there are in total.
To find something older, type a team code or a member's ID into the Team or member box above the table and press the filter button. That searches everything, not just the visible page. Clear puts the full list back.
Common problems
- Nobody sees achievements happening. The announcement channel is blank. That is the usual cause.
- Achievements are announced but pay no tokens. Check the token switch on this section first. If it is on, the achievement is a bronze or silver one that carries no token of its own — the automatic token only comes with gold and platinum.
- A member earned three badges at once and only got paid for one. Expected, when they are rungs of the same ladder. Only the top rung pays.
- I gave an achievement to a team and nothing happened. Check the short code you typed matches the team code your league uses, and that you used the code and not the team's full name.
- I took a member's unlock back and their XP did not change. Correct — member unlocks never carried XP. Only team unlocks move XP, in either direction.
- I gave a member an achievement by hand and they were not paid. Same reason. A hand-given achievement to a member is a badge and an announcement, not a payment. Give it to their team if you want the XP to land.
- The list looks short. It shows the most recent unlocks for speed. Use the filter to reach older records.
