/tokens

What it does

/tokens shows your team's wallet of wheel-spin tokens. Tokens are the entry currency for /spin — Bronze, Silver, Gold, Diamond, and Legend tiers — and they're how the league rewards consistent play instead of XP-hoarding. As of the 2026-05-09 wheel rework, tokens are earned exclusively through gameplay: daily challenges, game wins, tournament wins, and slot drops on the silver wheel. They can no longer be bought, sold, or traded with XP.

The wallet view is public — running /tokens balance posts the embed to whoever's looking. Commissioners can also add tokens directly to a user's team via /tokens add.

How to use

/tokens balance              — Show your team's token wallet (public)
/tokens add user tier amount — (admin) Grant tokens to a user's team

Examples

• /tokens balance — see how many of each tier your team holds.
• /tokens add user:@OwnerName tier:silver amount:3 — (admin) grant 3 Silver tokens to whichever team that owner is on.

The add subcommand auto-resolves the recipient's team from their Discord role — pass the user, not a team. If they don't have a team role yet, the command errors out instead of orphaning the tokens.

Notes

• Earning paths:
  • Bronze — complete a daily challenge
  • Silver — complete all daily challenges in a day, win a game, or win a tournament match
  • Gold — hit the gold slot on the silver wheel, or win a whole tournament
  • Diamond / Legend — rare drops from Gold/Diamond spins (Legend is wheel-only and never sold)
• The old /tokens buy, /tokens sell, and /tokens trade panels are retired. If you click a stale ephemeral panel from before the rework, it'll bounce you to a "tokens are earned" message instead of running the legacy flow.
• Admin /tokens add posts a public notification to the configured xp_claims channel so the league sees admin grants, and an entry to the audit log channel with actor + amount + recipient.
• Each token corresponds to one spin on its tier's wheel — there's no fractional spend.

Common questions

Q: I had a Bronze balance before the rework — did I lose them? A: No. Existing balances carry forward. The rework only changed the acquisition path; your wallet wasn't reset.

Q: How do I check what a Silver vs Gold spin actually wins? A: Run /spin help — it lists the prize table per tier. Diamond wheels mix in XP packs, dev-trait bumps, and the rare Legend token slot.

Q: Can I gift a token to another team? A: No, not directly. Tokens are team-scoped to the earner. The closest analog is /xp donate, which moves XP — but XP can no longer be converted into tokens since the rework.

Q: Why does my Discord show a "buy tokens" button? A: That's a stale message from before the rework. Tapping it now shows the earned-only banner instead of opening the legacy purchase panel. Run a fresh /tokens balance for the current UI.

Q: Where do tokens settle when I win a game or tournament? A: Immediately on game-finalization. The credit appears in your /tokens balance and a Discord ping lands in the configured rewards channel.
