What it does
/scout_post pins the scouting-hub embed in a dedicated channel — a one-stop button-driven entry point so members don't have to remember the /scout slash command. The embed shows the current draft class summary (size, top prospects by position), with buttons that open the same flows /scout opens.
Run it once after each new draft class upload to refresh the embed with the latest top-ranked prospects. Admin or commish role required.
How to use
/scout_post — Post (or refresh) the embed in the current channel
/scout_post channel:<#c> — Post (or refresh) the embed in the named channel
If the bot has already posted a static scout embed in the target channel, the new call replaces it; the old message is deleted to keep the channel clean.
Notes
- The embed re-fetches data on each render; once posted, it stays up-to-date automatically as members interact with it.
- Members still get the same XP-tiered scouting reports as if they typed
/scoutdirectly — the buttons are just a discoverability shortcut. - If you delete the embed by mistake, re-run
/scout_postto drop a fresh one.
Common questions
Q: Can I post multiple scout embeds in different channels? A: The bot only tracks one "static" scout embed per guild. Posting in a new channel moves the tracked embed to the new channel; the old one stops auto-updating.
Q: The embed says "no draft class loaded".
A: Run /draft_class_upload to import the current Madden 26 draft class FBCHUNKS export before posting the scout embed.
Q: Where does scouting cost-XP go? A: Nowhere — it's an XP sink. The cost scales the scouting depth, not a transfer to another team.
