What it does

/potw is the commish's tool for picking and publicly announcing Player Of The Week winners for the league. Pick one or more standout performers from the just-finished week — the bot posts a polished embed in the configured POTW channel and credits each winner's team with bonus XP.

Use it weekly after stats settle to recognize standout performances and keep the league's XP economy flowing. Commish role required.

How to use

/potw post player:<name> [category:<offense|defense|special_teams>] [xp:<amount>]
  • player — autocomplete-driven; pick the player who balled out.
  • category — optional. Defaults to a single all-purpose POTW; set to scope to offense/defense/special teams when picking multiple.
  • xp — optional. Defaults to your league's configured POTW reward. Override for a bigger week.

Examples

  • /potw post player:Patrick Mahomes — single POTW.
  • /potw post player:Myles Garrett category:defense xp:5000 — defensive POTW with bumped XP reward.
  • Pick multiple times in a row to cover offense + defense + special teams in one week.

Notes

  • The XP credit posts immediately to the winner's team — they can spot it in their next /balance check or in their team's audit log.
  • Default POTW XP is configurable per league via the dashboard's XP economy page.
  • The POTW announcement channel is configurable via /setup (or /setup commish channels section).
  • POTW picks are tracked in the per-player profile under the Awards tab.

Common questions

Q: I picked the wrong player. A: There's no auto-undo. Manually deduct the XP via /admin addxp player:<name> amount:-<n> and post a correction in the POTW channel.

Q: Can I batch-pick multiple POTW in one command? A: No — one player per /potw post call. Just run it back-to-back for each category.

Q: How is this different from /admin claims_panel? A: /admin claims_panel posts an XP-claim kiosk where members file claims. /potw post is the commish's direct one-shot award path; no member filing needed.

Q: Can the players themselves nominate? A: Not via /potw. Use the claims-panel flow (/admin claims_panel) if you want members to file POTW claims that you then approve.
