What it does

/playoffs is the round-level version of GOTW for the postseason. Where /gotw post posts one weekly matchup for picks, /playoffs post round:<round> posts every game in a playoff round at once — each with a matchup embed and pick buttons. Settlement is automatic: when a game finalizes from the EA export, the bot ledgers XP for everyone who picked correctly plus a sweep bonus for anyone who went perfect in that round.

/playoffs leaderboard shows the running playoff predictions standings (separate from regular-season GOTW).

/playoffs is the sole playoff-picks command — the old /playoff (singular, per-matchup picker) was retired in the Wave-13 rework.

How to use

/playoffs post round:<wildcard|divisional|conference|superbowl>   — (admin) Post every game in the round

Examples

  • /playoffs post round:wildcard — drops all six wildcard matchups into the configured GOTW channel for picks.
  • /playoffs post round:divisional — posts the four divisional-round games.
  • /playoffs post round:conference — posts both conference championships.
  • /playoffs post round:superbowl — posts the Super Bowl matchup.
  • /playoffs leaderboard — see who's leading the postseason picks.

The bot replies with a summary: how many games posted, how many were already posted (skipped to prevent dupes), and how many were already finished.

Notes

  • Admin only for post — requires Administrator or Manage Messages. leaderboard is open to everyone.
  • Reuses the GOTW channel. If /gotw setup channel:#X hasn't been run, /playoffs post rejects with "No GOTW post channel configured."
  • Idempotent. Re-running /playoffs post round:wildcard won't duplicate matchups — it skips the ones already posted and only adds new/missing ones.
  • Auto-settles via the EA export. Once a playoff game finalizes in the Companion app, onGameFinishedPlayoffs resolves all picks and ledgers XP. No manual settlement required.
  • Sweep bonus. Going perfect in a round (e.g. 6/6 wildcard picks) pays a bonus on top of the per-pick XP. Tuneable per league.

Common questions

Q: I ran /playoffs post round:wildcard and got "No new matchups were posted." A: Either the matchups are already posted (re-run is a no-op), or the EA export hasn't included the wildcard slate yet. Push a fresh export from the Companion app and try again.

Q: Can I post a single playoff game instead of the whole round? A: Not currently — /playoffs post is round-at-a-time only. The single-matchup picker (/playoff singular) was retired with the Wave-13 consolidation.

Q: My playoff picks don't show on the regular GOTW leaderboard. A: Right — postseason picks are a separate ledger. Use /playoffs leaderboard for playoff standings, /gotw leaderboard for regular-season standings.

Q: A game's winner is right but I didn't get credit. A: Open your dashboard XP history page and look for the playoff settlement row. If it's missing, ping a commish — the auto-settler is best-effort; manual replay is available.
