/player_card

Render a full visual player card image (header, attributes, abilities, season stats)

What it does

/player_card renders a polished image card for a single player — team-colored header with portrait, full attribute spread, X-Factor / Superstar abilities, dev trait badge, and current-season stat highlights. Think trading-card aesthetic, shareable in one click.

Pair it with /player get (text-based card) when you want the visual; use the slash command when you want the data fast.

How to use

/player_card player:<name>
  • player — name with autocomplete. Type any part of the name and the bot suggests the top matches with team + position. Pick the right one if there are duplicates.

The card posts publicly — the whole channel sees the image embed.

Examples

  • /player_card player:Patrick Mahomes — straight name.
  • /player_card player:AR5 — initials+jersey shorthand also works (autocomplete resolves to Aaron Rodgers #5 or whoever).
  • /player_card player:CMC — common nickname shortcuts work too.

Notes

  • The card honors your league's branding theme (set via the dashboard's branding page).
  • Tabs at the bottom let you switch between Overview, Attributes, Abilities, and Season Stats; tab navigation is button-driven on the message.
  • Player data refreshes after each EA league export — ratings shown match the last export.
  • For a multi-player visual (lineup), use /lineup.

Common questions

Q: Autocomplete shows a player from the wrong team. A: A player may have been traded mid-week. Pick the right entry from the dropdown, or re-run after the next EA export catches up.

Q: The portrait is missing for a rookie. A: Rookie portraits land after the first EA portrait pass. If a rookie portrait is missing weeks into the season, ping support — usually a manual portrait sync fixes it.

Q: Can I render a card for an archived/retired player? A: No — /player_card only resolves active rosters. Retired players live under /player retirement and the dashboard's Hall of Fame.

Q: Why is /player_card separate from /player get? A: /player get is text-based and fast; /player_card is image-based and pretty. Different surfaces for different audiences (e.g. social shares).
