What it does
/guide posts the Franchise Hub welcome embed ephemerally, so anyone who joined the server late (or scrolled past the landing channel) can still find the orientation. It is the single best command to run on day one in a new league.
The embed lists the most-used slash commands across league snapshots, roster lookups, and the XP economy, and links to the dashboard at https://franchisehub.gg/my-team where owners run their team.
How a new member claims a team
There is no slash command to claim a team. The flow is:
- Post your EA / Madden Companion username in the onboarding channel (your commish pins it).
- The bot matches your username against the latest league export and assigns the team role automatically.
- If your name doesn't match (you haven't joined the league in-game yet, or the spelling is off), ping a commish.
/claim is the daily XP reward — not a team-claim command. Running /claim without a team gives you a friendly note explaining the flow.
How to use
/guide
No arguments. The reply is ephemeral — only you see it.
What's inside
- League snapshots:
/standings,/schedule,/power_rankings - Roster lookup:
/player,/compare,/freeagents - XP economy:
/balance,/upgrade,/prices - Personal:
/profile,/achievements - A link to your team dashboard
Pair /guide with /help <topic> when someone has a specific question, and /dashboard when they need a direct link into their team page.
Common questions
Q: Why is the reply only visible to me?
A: By design — /guide is for onboarding, not announcements. Commissioners typically pin the welcome embed in a #start-here channel from a separate post; /guide is the on-demand fallback.
Q: The embed used to mention "My Career" — where did it go? A: My Career was retired on 2026-05-13. The guide now points at the dashboard and the universal slash commands instead. Archived owner_sim data still exists on the admin side but is no longer surfaced publicly.
Q: Can I customize the welcome message for my league?
A: Not from /guide itself. Customize the pinned welcome post in your landing channel; /guide always renders the canonical Franchise Hub overview.
