What it does

/achievements opens Franchise Hub's achievement system — a long-tail progression layer on top of every other Discord command. Every game played, XP spent, trade completed, bet won, spin landed, and challenge finished increments a stat counter; when a counter hits an achievement's threshold, the bot unlocks the achievement, ledgers an XP reward (1× bronze → 1.5× silver → 2× gold → 3× platinum), and posts to the achievements channel.

The command itself is read-only — it doesn't unlock anything. It's a browser for the catalog plus your team's progress.

How to use

/achievements help — Learn the system
/achievements categories — Category overview + your % complete per category
/achievements list category:<cat> — All achievements in one category
/achievements progress — Your closest-to-unlock achievements
/achievements setup channel:<#chan> — (admin) Set the unlock-notification channel

Categories

  • Gameplay — game results, streaks, playoffs
  • XP Economy — XP earning, spending, upgrades
  • Trades — trade activity & deal-making
  • Betting — bets won, parlays, wagers
  • Spins — wheel spins & jackpots
  • Challenges — completed weekly/daily challenges
  • GOTW — Game of the Week picks & appearances
  • Longevity — seasons played in the league
  • Community — voting, governance, participation

Each achievement has a tier (bronze / silver / gold / platinum). Higher tier = higher threshold + bigger XP payout via the tier multiplier.

Notes

  • Per-team stats. Achievement progress is tracked per team (by abbr), not per Discord user. If you change teams, you start fresh on the new team's counters.
  • Unlock notifications post to the channel set via /achievements setup (admin only). If unset, unlocks still ledger XP — they just don't broadcast.
  • No retroactive unlocks for the "Front Office" category — it was retired with My Career on 2026-05-13. Existing unlocks are preserved but no new ones can be earned.
  • Custom achievements (commish-defined) appear inside the category they're tagged into. Default cap is 50 per guild.

Common questions

Q: How do I know what stat counts toward what? A: /achievements list category:<cat> shows each achievement's stat key, current value, and threshold. The status emoji tells you the state: ⬜ untouched, 🔸 some progress, 🔶 50%+, ✅ unlocked.

Q: I unlocked an achievement but didn't get the XP. A: Check the dashboard's per-team XP page for a +XP achievement: <name> row dated near the unlock. If it's not there, ping a commish to manually replay the unlock — the unlock ledger and XP ledger are decoupled, so a Firestore hiccup on one side won't break the other.

Q: Why is my "categories" view missing one? A: A commish may have hidden it via the dashboard, or the category contains only retired achievements (like Front Office). Hidden categories don't render in /achievements categories but stay queryable via /achievements list.

Q: Do achievements roll over season-to-season? A: Yes. Stats and unlocks persist for the team across seasons — that's the whole point of the Longevity category.
