In a commanding performance, the Sacramento Banditz topped the Houston Comets 24-0 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. This decisive victory not only boosts Sacramento's confidence but also establishes them as early contenders in the league, while Houston faces pressing questions after a shutout loss. Leading the charge for the Banditz was quarterback Justin Herbert, who threw for 205 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his efficiency and poise in the pocket. Running back Lance Choice complemented the passing attack with an impressive 131 rushing yards, while wide receiver Dont'e Thornton Jr. made a significant impact with 125 receiving yards, creating mismatches throughout the game. Defensively, the Banditz were relentless, with Josh Peoples recording a crucial sack and Darius Rush snagging an interception to halt any potential Comets’ momentum. The turning point came when Rush's interception set up a touchdown that pushed Sacramento's lead to 17-0, effectively sealing the game and leaving Houston struggling to respond. With this dominant showing, the Banditz proved they can excel on both sides of the ball.
