In a commanding performance to kick off the 2026 season, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Minnesota Vikings 38-17. With both teams looking to make a statement early in the year, the Packers showcased their dominance on the road, setting the tone for what could be a promising campaign. Quarterback Jordan Love was the standout performer, throwing for 318 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Packers' offense with precision and poise. Running back Josh Jacobs contributed significantly with 105 rushing yards, while wide receiver Christian Watson made a splash with 156 receiving yards, proving to be a reliable target throughout the game. The Packers’ offensive firepower was simply too much for the Vikings to handle. Defensively, Edgerrin Cooper made his presence felt with a sack and an interception, contributing to a solid outing for the Packers’ defense. The turning point came in the second quarter when Cooper's interception halted a promising Vikings drive, allowing Green Bay to extend their lead. The Packers' defense continually pressured Minnesota's offense, ensuring that the Vikings struggled to find their rhythm, ultimately sealing the game for Green Bay.
