In a thrilling season opener, the Houston Texans narrowly defeated the Buffalo Bills 37-31, setting the tone for an exciting 2026 campaign. Both teams showcased their talent, but it was the Texans who made the plays when it mattered most to secure the victory at home. C.J. Stroud led the Texans’ offense with an impressive performance, throwing for 4 touchdowns while keeping the defense on its heels. Josh Allen put on a show for the Bills, amassing 405 passing yards and connecting with Dalton Kincaid, who racked up 178 receiving yards. However, despite Allen's efforts, the Texans' ability to find the end zone proved decisive. Defensively, the Texans were able to make key stops, with Kamari Lassiter leading the charge with 4 total tackles, and Danielle Hunter contributing a critical sack. The turning point in the game came when Derek Stingley Jr. intercepted a pass late in the fourth quarter, helping to seal the victory for Houston and allow them to hold off the Bills' comeback attempts.
