In a tightly contested matchup, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Arizona Cardinals 23-20 in Week 5 of the 2026 season. With both teams vying for a crucial win, the Lions emerged victorious, pushing their season record forward as they continue to chase playoff aspirations. Carson Beck led the charge for the Cardinals, throwing for 260 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to move the ball downfield. However, it was Jahmyr Gibbs who shined for Detroit on the ground, racking up 101 rushing yards to keep the Lions' offense balanced. Michael Wilson also made a significant impact for Arizona, leading all receivers with 70 yards, but it ultimately wasn’t enough to secure the win. Defensively, Jack Campbell was a standout for the Lions, recording 10 total tackles to anchor a unit that bent but did not break. Derrick Moore provided pressure throughout the game with 1.5 sacks, contributing to the Lions' ability to contain Beck during crucial moments. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Campbell's tackle forced a critical 3-and-out, allowing the Lions to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
