In a thrilling showdown, the Minnesota Vikings narrowly defeated the San Francisco 49ers with a final score of 70-56, showcasing the high stakes of Week 2 in the 2027 season. Both teams battled fiercely, but the Vikings managed to secure the win, keeping their playoff hopes alive early in the campaign. LaNorris Sellers was the star of the night for Minnesota, throwing for an astonishing 599 yards and seven touchdowns, establishing himself as a dominant force in the passing game. Meanwhile, Demond Claiborne contributed on the ground, though his 34 rushing yards paled in comparison to the aerial fireworks. For the 49ers, Mike Washington Jr. put on a show with 173 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to clinch the victory. Defensively, the 49ers struggled to contain Sellers, while the Vikings made a crucial play when Toriano Pride Jr. intercepted a pass, shifting momentum in their favor. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Vikings' offense executed a flawless drive, capped off by a touchdown that put them two scores ahead. Despite the valiant efforts from San Francisco's Jyaire Hill, who led the team with five tackles, their defense couldn't keep pace, sealing the Vikings' high-scoring triumph.
