The Tampa Bay Buccaneers topped the New Orleans Saints 38-17 in a decisive Week 5 matchup of the 2028 season. With both teams vying for crucial conference positioning, the Buccaneers delivered a standout performance that solidified their status as a playoff contender. Baker Mayfield led the charge for Tampa Bay, throwing for three touchdowns to complement a strong ground game led by Bucky Irving, who racked up an impressive 170 rushing yards. Cade Klubnik of the Saints put up a valiant effort with 400 passing yards, but it was not enough to keep pace with the Buccaneers’ explosive offense. Chris Olave shone for New Orleans, catching for 166 yards, but his contributions fell short in the face of Tampa Bay's offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Buccaneers were relentless, with Josaiah Stewart dominating the pass rush with 3.5 sacks, while Jacob Parrish anchored the secondary with six total tackles. The turning point came in the second quarter when Mayfield connected with a key touchdown pass to extend Tampa Bay's lead, leaving the Saints struggling to mount a comeback. CJ Allen's interception late in the game sealed the victory, ensuring the Buccaneers remain a formidable force in the league.
