The Buffalo Bills cruised to a decisive 30-10 victory over the New York Jets in Week 5 of the 2028 season. With this win, the Bills solidified their position in the AFC standings, showcasing their dominance at home against a struggling Jets squad. Josh Allen was the star of the show, throwing for 329 yards and three touchdowns, leading the Bills' aerial assault. Khalil Shakir also made a significant impact, racking up 99 receiving yards and providing crucial support for Allen. Despite a modest ground game led by James Cook III, who managed 44 rushing yards, the Bills' offense consistently found ways to exploit the Jets' defense. On the defensive side, the Bills' front line made their presence felt, highlighted by Jaelan Phillips' 1.5 sacks that disrupted New York's offensive rhythm. The turning point came in the second quarter when Allen connected with Shakir for a touchdown, extending the lead to 20-3 and putting the Jets in a tough position to recover. With the Bills' defense holding strong, they effectively sealed the game, allowing Buffalo to maintain control throughout.
