In a commanding performance, the Minnesota Vikings topped the Kansas City Chiefs 42-23 in Week 2 of the 2027 season. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the season, the Vikings seized control with a potent offensive display that left the Chiefs struggling to keep pace. Joe Milton led the Vikings' attack with two touchdown passes, while Chuba Hubbard made his mark on the ground, rushing for 104 yards. Michael Penix Jr. put up impressive numbers for Kansas City, throwing for 353 yards and keeping the game competitive, but it was Puka Nacua's 126 receiving yards that highlighted the Chiefs' offensive efforts. Defensively, the Vikings stifled the Chiefs at crucial moments, forcing them to settle for field goals instead of touchdowns. Jerome Baker stood out for Kansas City, leading with 7 total tackles and 1.5 sacks, but his efforts weren't enough to turn the tide. The game’s turning point came in the second quarter when Minnesota's defense halted a promising Chiefs drive, allowing the Vikings to extend their lead and ultimately secure the victory.
