The New York Jets delivered a dominant performance, defeating the New England Patriots 45-6 in Week 17 of the 2027 season. With playoff implications on the line, the Jets showcased their offensive prowess, solidifying their position as a contender in the postseason. Baker Mayfield was exceptional under center for the Jets, throwing for four touchdowns and leading a high-octane offense that saw Jahmyr Gibbs rush for an impressive 187 yards. Quentin Johnston also made a significant impact, racking up 100 receiving yards and keeping the Patriots' secondary on their heels throughout the game. Jaxson Dart managed to throw for 234 yards for New England, but it was not nearly enough to keep pace with the Jets' explosive attack. Defensively, the Jets were a force to be reckoned with, highlighted by Jonathon Cooper's three sacks and L'Jarius Sneed's two interceptions. The turning point came early in the second quarter when Sneed picked off a Dart pass, setting up Mayfield for another touchdown and extending their lead. This relentless defensive effort stifled the Patriots' offense, ensuring that New England never found their rhythm in this one-sided affair.
