In a decisive wildcard round matchup, the Houston Texans toppled the Los Angeles Chargers with a commanding 31-3 victory, showcasing their dominance in the 2026 postseason. This win propels the Texans forward in their quest for a championship, while the Chargers' season comes to a disappointing end. Joe Burrow was the star of the show for Houston, throwing for 248 yards and three touchdowns, demonstrating his prowess in the pocket. He connected frequently with Eli Stowers, who racked up 122 receiving yards, making critical catches that kept drives alive. Travis Etienne Jr. contributed significantly on the ground with 96 rushing yards, further solidifying the Texans' offensive onslaught. Defensively, the Texans were relentless, with Walter Nolen III leading the charge with three total tackles and two sacks that disrupted the Chargers' offensive rhythm. The turning point came early in the second half when Nolen's second sack led to a turnover on downs, allowing Houston to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win. Despite a valiant effort from Jalen Ramsey, who intercepted two passes for Los Angeles, the Chargers struggled to find their footing against a determined Texans defense.
