In a thrilling season opener, the Denver Broncos narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs, 34-28. Both teams entered the game looking to set a positive tone for their 2026 campaigns, but it was Denver that ultimately emerged victorious in a closely contested battle. Kansas City’s Ty Simpson showcased his skills, throwing for 266 yards and a touchdown, while also leading the Chiefs in the air attack. Tyreek Hill made a significant impact with 127 receiving yards, and Ashton Jeanty provided a strong ground game with 95 rushing yards. Despite the strong performances, the Broncos' offense proved to be too much to handle. Defensively, the Broncos were led by Dre Greenlaw, who recorded eight total tackles, while Denzel Ward made a game-changing impact with two interceptions. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Ward's second interception halted a Chiefs drive and allowed Denver to maintain their lead, sealing the win and setting the stage for an exciting season ahead.
