The Green Bay Packers opened the 2026 season with a commanding 41-21 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. With both teams looking to set the tone for the year, the Packers' strong performance established them as early contenders in the NFC North. Quarterback Matthew Stafford led the charge for Green Bay, throwing for 264 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with receivers effectively. Jayden Reed was a standout target, racking up 94 receiving yards, while Bucky Irving contributed significantly on the ground with 92 rushing yards, helping to keep the Vikings' defense on their heels throughout the game. Defensively, the Packers were equally impressive, with Jake Golday leading the team with six total tackles, demonstrating a strong presence against the Vikings' offense. The turning point came in the second quarter when the Packers scored two quick touchdowns, allowing them to build a comfortable lead that Minnesota could never quite recover from. Despite T.J. Parker's two sacks for the Vikings, the Packers' balanced attack proved too much to handle.
